The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a General Manager, Nomad Insurance based in United States.

Take full ownership of a growing portfolio of insurance products designed for remote workers and digital nomads worldwide. As General Manager, you will combine product leadership, growth strategy, and operational execution to drive the overall success of the product line. You will oversee products at different stages of maturity, from an established travel medical insurance offering to rapidly scaling health coverage and early-stage financial protection solutions. Working across product, engineering, design, and growth, you will build a high-performing team and deliver exceptional customer experiences. You will shape the product vision, identify new growth opportunities, and turn ambitious goals into measurable results. This is an entrepreneurial leadership opportunity to scale the business from $30 million to $300 million while contributing to the vision of a global social safety net for people living and working across borders.

Accountabilities:

  • Product strategy and ownership: Define and execute the overall product strategy, ensuring priorities, decisions, and performance remain aligned with the broader business vision.
  • Growth and business performance: Drive product growth and commercial outcomes, working toward the ambitious objective of scaling the business from $30 million to $300 million.
  • Product development: Partner with product teams to establish clear goals, prioritize features, identify product improvements, and guide development based on customer needs and business opportunities.
  • Customer experience: Act as the voice of customers, deeply understand the needs of digital nomads and remote workers, and ensure the products deliver an outstanding user experience.
  • Portfolio management: Oversee products at different stages of maturity, including core travel medical insurance, a rapidly scaling health insurance offering, and early-stage safety net solutions featuring income protection and digital citizenship capabilities.
  • Team leadership: Lead, mentor, and support the Nomad Insurance team across growth, engineering, and design, fostering an organized, motivated, productive, and positive working environment.
  • Execution and problem-solving: Take ownership of complex challenges, make decisive choices, and ensure product and growth objectives are achieved despite uncertainty or changing circumstances.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners essential to the successful operation and development of the product portfolio.
  • Vision and innovation: Rally the team around a compelling product vision, encourage experimentation, and identify bold opportunities to improve the offering and strengthen its market position.
  • Operational effectiveness: Ensure the right resources, plans, and processes are in place to translate strategic objectives into successful execution.
  • Experience in product management, entrepreneurship, or a comparable role involving product ownership and business outcomes.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset, with strong initiative, a willingness to take calculated risks, and the ability to act independently.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to turn ideas into practical outcomes.
  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities, including the ability to communicate a clear vision, motivate others, and support professional development.
  • Strong product intuition and a customer-first mindset, with the ability to develop products that customers value and enthusiastically recommend.
  • Experience defining priorities, planning projects, coordinating resources, and following through to achieve measurable results.
  • A structured, organized, and results-oriented approach to managing multiple priorities and navigating complex challenges.
  • The ability to connect product strategy with growth objectives, customer experience, and operational execution.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary and geographically distributed teams.
  • Intellectual curiosity, creativity, and openness to new ideas, with a willingness to experiment and learn from failure.
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and a commitment to making responsible decisions.
  • Genuine motivation to help build a global social safety net that expands access to protection and opportunity for people regardless of where they live or work.
  • Fully remote work: Work from anywhere in the world.
  • Transparent compensation: Clear and transparent compensation practices.
  • Equity: Equity participation as part of the overall compensation package.
  • Global coverage: Access to a company-provided global safety net offering health, income, and travel coverage.
  • Paid vacation: A minimum of four weeks of vacation per year.
  • Personal development: An annual budget to support learning and professional growth.
  • Home office allowance: Financial support for your workspace.
  • Equipment: A new laptop provided for your role.
  • Annual team gathering: Opportunities to connect in person at team events in international destinations.
  • International collaboration: Work with a fully remote team distributed across multiple countries and time zones.
  • Career impact: The opportunity to lead a significant product portfolio, drive ambitious growth, and contribute to a mission focused on global access to protection and opportunity.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
