The posting

Job Title: House Manager

Location: San Antonio, TX 78232

Employment Type: Part-Time (10-15 hours/week)

Schedule: Flexible schedule, with at least 2 days per week required, availability on multiple days of the week with some flexibility

Compensation: $25–30/hour

Start Date: ASAP

Requirements:

  • Maintain a smoke-free environment
  • Reliable transportation
  • Tech-savvy, comfortable using ChatGPT
  • Comfortable around cats

About the Household:

The household is a small, tight-knit one located in San Antonio, TX. The homeowner has two cats that are an important part of the family. The homeowner works remotely most days and has occasional travel for work. With a busy schedule, the household is seeking a dependable partner to help manage day-to-day tasks. The ideal candidate will thrive in an environment where organization, flexibility, and independent problem-solving are key. The goal is to cultivate a home that feels intentional, calm, and well-maintained, with someone who takes pride in keeping things in order and freeing up space for more meaningful time.

Who You Are / What We’re Looking For:

You are a seasoned household professional who is naturally drawn to the details of running a home well. You notice what needs attention, take initiative, and follow tasks through to completion without requiring step-by-step direction. This is not a learn-as-you-go position. You bring established judgment, practical household experience, and the ability to work independently from the start.

You understand that true support begins with learning how the homeowner wants things done. You ask thoughtful questions, retain preferences, and carry them forward consistently rather than substituting your own methods. If a problem arises, you take ownership of resolving it without shifting the burden back to the homeowner.

You are also systems-minded and can help build and document recurring household routines, including weekly, quarterly, and annual tasks. You communicate clearly, flag decisions that genuinely require input, and otherwise keep things moving behind the scenes. Because this is a focused 10 to 15-hour-per-week role, strong prioritization and efficient execution are essential.

Ideally, you have substantial experience with meal planning and preparation, household organization, vendor coordination, and general home upkeep. You must also be tech-savvy, reliable, responsive to feedback, and comfortable around cats. Above all, your work should consistently reduce the homeowner’s mental load and create more time for him to enjoy his home.

Key Responsibilities:

Household Organization & Maintenance:

  • Create, maintain and improve existing household organization systems
  • Daily home resets, including light tidying (dishes, surfaces, vacuuming high-traffic areas)
  • Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs
  • Manage garage sale items and assist in selling items online (e.g., Marketplace, eBay)
  • Indoor plant care
  • Change batteries, light bulbs, smoke detectors, etc. (as needed)

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects:

  • Help collaborate and find a system to put instruments in their right home
  • Organizational projects as they come up, with a continual layer of reassessing and refining the system

Inventory & Errands:

  • Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies
  • Manage grocery delivery system
  • Manage household orders and subscriptions (Amazon)
  • Assist with dry cleaning (drop-off, pick-up, inventory management)
  • Handle package deliveries, mail sorting, and junk mail
  • Breakdown boxes and manage household returns

Meal Planning & Prep:

  • Prepare 3-4 dinner options per week, focusing on simple protein/carb/veggie combinations
  • Prepare fruits and vegetables for consumption
  • Perform grocery shopping
  • Kitchen cleanup and maintenance

Laundry & Linen Care:

  • Full ownership of laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and organizing
  • Occasional ironing
  • Linen rotation every 2 weeks
  • Maintain a tidy and well-stocked laundry area

Pet Care:

  • Litter box cleaning (replace the bag weekly, and a deep clean every 3 months)
  • Vet scheduling on occasion
  • Maintain pet supplies

Vehicle Management:

  • Schedule maintenance on occasion
  • Fueling, cleaning, and organizing vehicles
  • Track registration and insurance

Vendor & Property Oversight:

  • Oversee contractors, landscapers, and cleaners
  • Research quotes and schedule repairs when needed
  • Help with vendor and contractor support for a future backyard redesign
  • Oversee HVAC filters

Administrative & Personal Assistant Support:

  • Basic calendar coordination and receipt tracking

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
