Job Title: House Manager & Family Assistant (with Meal Prep Support)

Location: Weston, MA

Employment Type: Full-time (30 guaranteed with room to grow up to 40+ hours/week); This is a W-2 position.

Proposed Start Date: ASAP

Compensation: $33–$38+/hour based on experience

Benefits: PTO, Sick Leave, Health Stipend offered.

Proposed Schedule:

Approximately 30–40 hours per week, primarily weekdays;

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: Proven experience in household management, family assistance, or childcare.
  • Skills: Highly-organized, proactive, and detail-oriented. Strong time-management skills.

Requirements:

  • Can maintain a smoke-free environment
  • Has reliable transportation to the workplace; comfortable driving large family car provided
  • Up-to-date general vaccinations
  • Ability to take initiative and manage multiple priorities with ease
  • Previous experience with childcare, including managing routines, school pick-ups, and overall care is a plus

Our family is seeking a highly reliable, proactive, and organized House Manager & Family Assistant to take charge of managing our busy household. We are looking for someone who can step in and deliver top-tier support across a variety of responsibilities. This role will include household management, light meal prep, and childcare assistance, all while maintaining an organized and efficient home environment.

You should be a strong communicator, capable of managing multiple tasks seamlessly and staying ahead of the game. About You:

Key Responsibilities:

Household Management & Organization:

  • Develop and maintain household organization systems (closets, storage, pantry, toys)
  • Reset and tidy rooms daily; maintain overall neatness, ensure home is prepped for cleaning services
  • Awareness of household schedules and calendars
  • Conduct seasonal swaps (clothing, décor, etc.)
  • Prepare for family events, holidays, and guest stays
  • Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs and pick-ups
  • Support packing/unpacking for travel or seasonal transitions for family
  • Supervise or coordinate with service providers/vendors (e.g., handymen, cleaners, landscapers)
  • Load/unload dishwasher, wipe surfaces, vacuum high traffic areas

Family Support & Child Assistance:

  • Assist with daily school drop-offs and pickups, manage extracurricular activities (to/from)
  • Provide assistance with homework and nightly routines
  • Prep backpacks, clothing and snacks for school

Inventory Management

  • Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, household supplies
  • Create and manage running household supply lists
  • Run errands: grocery shopping, returns, dry cleaning, gift shopping
  • Handle package deliveries / pickup, mail sorting, and returns

Meal Planning & Preparation

  • Plan and prepare healthy meals and snacks for the family, including breakfast and dinners 2–3 times per week.
  • Shop for groceries and meal-related items
  • Clean kitchen post-prep and manage kitchen tidiness

Laundry & Linen Care

  • Wash, dry, fold, and organize family laundry (e.g., clothing, bedding, towels)
  • Manage linens: rotate bedding, refresh towels, restock essentials
  • Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked with supplies
  • Handle special care for delicates

Vehicle Management

  • Schedule and oversee maintenance, oil changes, and inspections
  • Ensure vehicles are fueled, cleaned, and organized

Vendor & Property Oversight

  • Schedule and supervise service providers (cleaners, contractors, landscapers)
  • Research and coordinate repairs, maintenance, and quotes
  • Oversee outdoor spaces and seasonal maintenance needs; patio maintenance
  • Serve as primary contact for vendors

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects

  • Tackle occasional deep cleaning tasks (fridge/freezer, oven, baseboards)
  • Maintain and refresh daily drop zones (entryways, mudroom, garage)
  • Help with family transitions (e.g., moves)
  • Manage seasonal property maintenance

Administrative & Personal Assistant Support

  • Assist with family travel logistics and scheduling
  • Collaborate on managing family calendars and reminders, ensuring that key events, appointments, and activities are tracked and communicated effectively
  • Assist with coordination of events (e.g., dinner or birthday parties), appointments and guest preparation
