About Our Family

We are a busy, active family with two school-age children and a full calendar of sports, dance, swim, school activities, and time with friends. Our household moves at a lively pace, and we are looking for someone who can bring organization, efficiency, and calm to the many details that come with family life. One parent works a hybrid schedule and manages calls and meetings throughout the day, while the other works demanding hours in the medical field, including regular on-call periods that bring unpredictability to the family schedule. We don’t have any pets currently, but are looking into getting a puppy in the next year.

We love our home and want it to feel organized, welcoming, and easy to live in. We are looking for someone who can step in, understand what needs attention, and keep things moving without needing to be directed through every task. From keeping uniforms and activity gear ready to stocking the kitchen, picking up the clutter that comes with having young kids, supporting meal preparation, and coordinating with our existing household staff, this person will play an important role in making daily life run more smoothly. We value warmth, professionalism, initiative, and respect, and we are looking for someone who will become a trusted part of our household.

We also have a long-standing weekly cleaner, so this role will work alongside existing household support and help ensure the home is prepared for cleaning visits. We are an open and inclusive household and expect everyone who works with our family to bring the same spirit of professionalism, respect, and consideration for others.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

You are an independent, solutions-oriented professional who thrives in a busy household and takes pride in making things run well. You notice what needs to happen and take care of it without waiting for a detailed list. You are naturally organized, efficient, and attentive to the details that matter, whether that means making sure uniforms are ready for the next practice, keeping the refrigerator stocked, or getting dinner underway before the evening rush. You are flexible, adaptable, and open to growth in this role as the family’s needs change (including a potential puppy in the future).

While this is not a nanny role, you enjoy working with and being around children. You bring a calm, capable presence to busy days and are comfortable giving and receiving clear, respectful feedback. You use good judgment, communicate clearly, and can balance competing priorities without losing sight of what is most important. Above all, you are dependable and take genuine ownership of your work.

You understand that working in a private home requires discretion, respect, and good boundaries. You approach the family, their home, and their community with warmth, professionalism, and consideration. You take pride in creating peace for the families you work with through seemingly small details that make a big difference.

Core (Weekly) Responsibilities

Household Organization & Maintenance

  • Maintain and build upon organizational systems established by a professional organizer
  • Reset high-traffic areas and manage the daily accumulation of school papers, craft supplies, toys, and activity gear
  • Create and maintain simple systems for sorting and organizing children's schoolwork, school communications, and household paperwork
  • Manage light household tidying, including dishes, surfaces, and maintaining frequently used areas
  • Prepare the home for weekly and bi-weekly cleaning visits and coordinate with existing cleaning staff as needed

Laundry & Linens

  • Manage laundry for two children and one parent at least twice per week, including washing, drying, folding, and putting away sports uniforms, dance and activity gear, and everyday clothing
  • Anticipate laundry needs around busy activity schedules and ensure uniforms and other essentials are clean and ready when needed
  • Handle garments according to their care requirements, including delicate and dry-clean-only items
  • Coordinate dry cleaning drop-off and pickup
  • Maintain tidy, organized laundry areas and manage linen rotation as needed

Meal Support

  • Plan and prepare 2–3 dinners per week, with meals ready around 5:00–5:30 PM ahead of evening activities
  • Pack school lunches and proactively prepare grab-and-go snacks and meals for sports and activity nights
  • Develop simple meal ideas that align with the family's preferences and encourage children to explore new foods in a relaxed, low-pressure way
  • Follow household dietary guidelines carefully, including awareness of a shellfish allergy
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and functional kitchen throughout meal preparation and the week

Inventory & Errands

  • Monitor pantry, refrigerator, and household supplies and restock thoughtfully based on the family's needs and existing inventory
  • Maintain a shared household supply list and anticipate replenishment needs
  • Complete efficient in-person grocery shopping while learning and remembering the family's staples and preferences

Family Support

  • Maintain proactive awareness of the family calendar and various sports apps to stay ahead of the children’s activities and ensure everything is thoughtfully planned
  • Prepare backpacks, uniforms, snacks, and other essentials ahead of school days and activities

Other Responsibilities (As-Needed)

  • Assist with school pickups or activity drop-offs on a very occasional basis
  • Handle dry cleaning, returns, and other miscellaneous household errands as requested
  • Handle routine household upkeep, including replacing HVAC filters, batteries, light bulbs, and smoke-detector batteries, as well as maintaining humidifiers and air purifiers
  • Handle occasional family vehicle cleaning and fueling as needed
  • Support seasonal wardrobe changes and donation coordination
  • Assist with packing and unpacking for family travel

Potential Future Responsibilities

These are potential responsibilities if the scope (and hours) for the position grow as trust develops.

  • Research household repairs and service providers and present relevant options or quotes to the family
  • Coordinate with landscapers, repair vendors, cleaners, and other household service providers
  • Schedule and oversee household services as trust and familiarity with the home develop
  • Maintain a household maintenance calendar and help ensure seasonal property needs are addressed
  • Assist with caring for potential future family dog

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
