About Our Family

We are a busy, active family living on scenic acres along the river in White Stone, Virginia. As entrepreneurs who each operate our own businesses, we balance full schedules, family life, and regular travel throughout the year. We value coming home to a household that feels organized, cared for, and running smoothly.

Our home is warm, welcoming, and full of life, shared with our two teenagers and three beloved pets. With a beautiful property, an active lifestyle, and ever-changing schedules, we value someone who can help keep the household organized, running smoothly, and well cared for—whether we’re at home or away.

We are a family that genuinely enjoys being at home, but the pace of our lives makes it challenging to keep everything running as smoothly and efficiently as we’d like. We’re looking for someone who naturally brings organization and structure to a busy household and is excited by the opportunity to create systems and routines that truly work for our family.

Rather than stepping into a home with rigid processes already in place, the right person will have the freedom to build thoughtful systems from the ground up, bring ideas and recommendations to the table, and help us become more organized along the way. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership and seeing the impact of what they’ve created.

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who wants to become a trusted, long-term part of our household and grow alongside our family for years to come.

Who You Are

You bring the confidence and life experience to do more than simply execute a task list. You anticipate needs, think ahead, and genuinely partner with a family to determine how their home can run most efficiently. You’re comfortable making thoughtful recommendations, offering guidance, and taking ownership rather than waiting to be told what comes next.

At your core, you’re a natural project manager. You’re someone who:

  • Sees the big picture while staying on top of the smallest details
  • Comfortably manages multiple priorities without letting things fall through the cracks
  • Communicates proactively through consistent check-ins and updates
  • Anticipates needs and offers thoughtful solutions and recommendations
  • Is tech-savvy and confident using tools like Google Docs, Slack, and similar platforms
  • Can effectively manage projects and administrative responsibilities remotely when appropriate

Above all, you are dependable and consistent. You don’t just come in strong—you maintain that same level of ownership, initiative, and attention to detail over time. You take genuine pride in the systems you create, the home you help manage, and becoming a trusted partner to the family you support.

This is a dynamic household management role, and responsibilities will naturally vary from week to week. The Household Manager will work in partnership with the family to prioritize what needs attention within the guaranteed 20-25 hour schedule. Some responsibilities are recurring, while others are seasonal, occasional, or project-based.

Key Responsibilities

Household Organization & Maintenance

  • Own and build household organization systems from the ground up
  • Perform daily resets: tidying surfaces, dishes, light vacuuming of high-traffic areas
  • Prep the home ahead of the every-other-week housekeeper visit
  • Seasonal clothing swaps and bedding rotations
  • Holiday prep and decorating of the home
  • Coordinate donation drop-offs
  • Assist with packing and unpacking for travel
  • Establish and maintain better drop-zone systems at entry of home
  • Visually assess outdoor spaces (decks, dock area) after storms or as needed, and reset outdoor dining and living areas
  • Occasional light outdoor support such as rotating sprinklers or watering as needed

Inventory Management & Errands

  • Restock pantry, refrigerator, and household supplies
  • Manage running household supply lists and recurring household orders and subscriptions
  • Handle returns, dry cleaning, and gift shopping
  • Mail management, including sorting and eliminating junk mail

Meal Planning & Preparation

  • Develop a weekly meal plan for family approval and grocery shop accordingly
  • Cook and prep health-conscious, protein-forward, anti-inflammatory meals for the family
  • Prepare meals up to three times per week, including batch-prepping lunches and preparing family dinners
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen throughout the day

Laundry & Linens

  • Wash, fold, organize and put away laundry on a consistent schedule
  • Help establish a recurring laundry routine (e.g., towels every Wednesday)
  • Handle linen rotation for beds and bathrooms on a weekly cadence

Pet Care

  • Let dogs out throughout the day as needed; care for cat (feed/refreshing water bowls, litterbox)
  • Occasional walks
  • Monthly groomer drop-off and pick-up (five-minute radius)
  • Schedule and manage vet appointments
  • Occasional overnight pet care and home oversight when the family travels and other trips (opportunity for additional paid hours)

Vehicle Maintenance

  • Schedule routine maintenance for family vehicles
  • Track registration and insurance renewals
  • Coordinate logistics for service appointments in coordination with the family's calendars

Family Support

  • Maintain the family calendar, including household schedules and appointments
  • Manage school administrative forms and deadlines
  • Schedule and track doctor and vet appointments
  • Assist with travel planning and logistics, including airfare and hotel reservations
  • Coordinate volleyball tournament schedules and ensure all travel details are organized and on the calendar in advance
  • Receipt and budget tracking, with potential to grow into broader household budget management
  • Rare, occasional driving support for a teenager
  • Party planning and event coordination support

Household Projects & Organization

  • Weekly refrigerator audit for expired food; coordinate deeper appliance cleaning as needed
  • Tackle major organizational projects during slower periods: storage room, library cabinetry (seasonal items), pantry, linen closet, and closets throughout the home
  • Identify areas of the home that could function more efficiently and recommend organizational solutions

Vendor Management & Property Oversight

  • Oversee vendor scheduling and communication: HVAC, pest control, septic, plumbing, and one-off contractors
  • Research and coordinate repair quotes as needed

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
