Job Description

SAIC is seeking a Communication Security Local Element Manager (COMSEC LE Manager) located on Ford Island in Hawaii to support USPACOM’s J76 K. Mark Takai Pacific Warfighting Center (PWC) to manage all on-site and portable secure communication equipment, including encrypted phones, Encrypted/Enhanced Classified Voice over Internet Protocol (ECVoIP) systems, and PWC’s Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) phones, while also helping the PWC team select, purchase, and improve secure and commercial phone systems in coordination with USPACOM J6.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Execute Communications Security (COMSEC) processes and procedures IAW all Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Navy (DoN) policies, directions and instructions.
  • Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot on-site and deployable Encrypted/Enhanced Classified Voice over Internet Protocol (ECVoIP) systems.
  • Perform Over-The-Air Transfer (OTAT) procedures to receive all electronic keys.
  • Manage, secure, and deploy for exercises/events Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) phones.
  • Manage the Pacific Warfighting Center (PWC) commercial phone system, including assigning phone numbers, setting up voicemail and minor troubleshooting.
  • Manage the local Communications Security (COMSEC) training program for both on-site and deployed teams.
  • Receive, maintain, secure, inventory, key, configure, troubleshoot, and update multiple encryptors on-site, in deployable kits, and at various locations on Oahu.
  • Coordinate with the Tier 2 COMSEC account on requesting, receiving, processing, keying, inventorying, and destroying both modern and PPK keys.
  • Research solutions, recommend procurement, and order equipment from vendors for current and future classified data and voice systems.
  • Work with DISA, DIA, Joint Staff J7, DoN, and other services and entities on ongoing and future classified requirements needing COMSEC support.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree and five (5)+ years of related experience; additional four (4) years of experience considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining Communications Security (COMSEC) accountability.
  • Experience providing technical support and troubleshooting classified voice and data systems in operational or exercise environments.
  • Experience with SKL and STE operation.
  • Experience with KG-175D TACLANE-Micro, KG-175F TACLANE-Fles, KG-175X TACLANE-10G.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Office 365.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Must have at least one of the following IAT Level II certifications: Security+, CySA+, SSCP, CND, GICSP, or CCNA Security.

REQUIRED CLEARANCES:

  • Must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Must be a current U.S. citizen.
