CDL-A Local Live Haul Driver – Huron, SD

Earn an average of $85,500–$90,000 per year hauling live turkeys from local farms to processing plants. This dedicated position offers daily home time, a Sunday–Thursday schedule, $0.65 CPM, and a $5,000 bonus. Drivers are based in Huron, SD, with routes within a 200-mile radius.

Pay Details

  • Average Weekly Pay: Approximately $1,650–$1,750
  • Mileage Rate: $0.65 CPM
  • Bonus: $5,000
  • Weekly Service Salary: $100 for on-time attendance with no call-offs
  • First-Year Earnings: Drivers average approximately $70,200 while learning the job and building efficiency
  • Holiday pay available immediately, with no waiting period

Job Details

  • Dedicated local live-haul poultry account
  • Transport turkeys from local farms to processing plants
  • Flatbed trailers with multiple trips per day
  • No-touch freight: Farms and processing plants handle loading and unloading
  • Automatic tractors; no slip seating
  • Trucks and trailers based in Huron, SD
  • Truck may be taken home with approval from the account manager

Shift Details

  • Home daily
  • Sunday–Thursday
  • Pickup times between 4:00 PM and 4:00 AM
  • Approximately 10–12 hours per day
  • Drivers may work most holidays that fall on their regular schedule
  • Christmas off; Thanksgiving time off is not guaranteed
  • PTO accrues from the start of employment, with increased accrual at specified service anniversaries

Job Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Minimum 3 months of verifiable truck-driving experience
  • Clean driving record
  • Valid DOT Medical Card
  • No SAP drivers
  • Ability to operate a flatbed tractor-trailer safely on local farm routes
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality to qualify for the weekly service salary
