How You’ll Make a Difference
When equipment goes down, our customers count on us to get them back to work. You’ll use your mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills to diagnose problems, make quality repairs, and help prevent future issues.
Just as important, you’ll represent Briggs every day through safe work, dependable service, and the way you take care of our customers and your teammates.
What You’ll Do
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild material handling equipment and components, including engines, electric motors, transmissions, hydraulics, brakes, steering, electrical, and lifting systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance, operational service, equipment inspections, failure analysis, and basic welding to keep customer equipment safe and running to manufacturer specifications.
- Put safety first in every job by properly securing equipment, following OSHA, DOT, and company requirements, maintaining a safe service vehicle, and actively participating in our Safety First culture.
- Keep accurate service records, maintain the parts and supplies needed to complete your work, continue your technical training and certifications, and support the team wherever needed.
What You’ll Bring
- 3+ years of forklift repair or related mechanical experience; mechanical or trade school training is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and knowledge of material handling equipment, along with the ability to read precision instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, and bore gauges.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with certification on at least 65% of the Briggs Equipment product line; Hyster-Yale technical certifications are preferred.
- The ability to perform hands-on work that includes frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 75 pounds.
