Job Overview

We are looking for a reliable, organized, and safety-conscious

Lorry Driver

to join our construction team. In this role, you will safely operate the company lorry to transport construction materials, manage delivery schedules, and ferry workers to and from job sites. You will also assist with manual handling, loading/unloading goods, and coordinating smoothly with site supervisors and workers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transportation & Logistics:Safely drive the company lorry to transport construction materials, equipment, tools, and goods to and from job sites, stores, and suppliers.Manage and coordinate daily delivery schedules to ensure timely arrivals.Transport construction workers safely to and from work locations (observing all prevailing local transport and safety regulations).
  • Loading & Physical Handling:Load and unload goods up to 30kg, tools, and construction materials.Assist with physical handling and on-site manual tasks as required by project needs.Ensure all loads are properly secured, balanced, and safe for transit.
  • Communication & Coordination:Communicate clearly in English with management and site coordinators.Being able to speak a second language (such as Tamil or Punjabi) is a strong plus point for communicating directly with site workers and foremen.Update basic delivery records, logs, and documentation using MS Office Word or company tracking forms.
  • Vehicle Maintenance & Safety:Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (checking oil, tires, brakes, and safety gear).Maintain the cleanliness, general upkeep, and roadworthiness of the lorry.Report any mechanical faults, damages, or traffic summonses to management immediately.Strictly adhere to LTA traffic rules and construction site safety protocols.
