ABOUT SAN FRANCISCO COMPUTE

San Francisco Compute exists to give ambitious teams large scale supercomputers without taking on a catastrophic balance sheet risk. Most GPU clouds force you to sign long term contracts with no way out. If you underbuy, you miss the window. If you overbuy, you’ll blow up with no way out. It’s a desperate gamble that San Francisco Compute does not force you to play.

Originally, SFC was an AI lab that bought too big of a GPU cluster and was forced to sublease it or go under. Today, we build data centers and supercomputers, then lease those machines on contracts that let our customers sublease. More than anyone else in the industry, we deeply felt the pain and fear of being forced to bet the farm with your neocloud vendor. To enable subleasing, we invented the first compute market and became the first to offer physical settlement. That means we operate GPU clusters like a neocloud and derisk our customers like a market.

Customers buying GPU clusters don’t want to work through a network of brokers. They want to transact with the folks that have the keys to the cluster and can own the SLA.

To keep the industry safe from unnecessary risk, SFC needs to scale fast. To do that, we serve financially motivated parties as a technical partner to build, operate, & lease supercomputers on their behalf. Basically, we help folks who want an economic return build GPU clusters on their balance sheet, but operated in full by us. That lets us retain the technical control needed to run a cloud while scaling fast like a market. SFC’s ability to offer subleasing can significantly increase the levered returns for cluster owners.

Our hybrid model outperforms brokered contracts or other “compute markets,” which have to go through a network of counterparties to solve problems. It also lets us design custom solutions for our customers, like clusters deployed in regions next to your dataset or physical eval set or a large CPU fleet deployed colocated with your GPU cluster.

Our team includes senior & technical leadership from places like Lambda, Crusoe, Digital Ocean, AWS, and Hut8. Our CTO is the cofounder and former CEO of Voltage Park. In prior roles, our team has deployed 8GW of datacenter capacity & hundreds of thousands of GPUs. We’ve been described as having “the highest talent density in the space.” If you are an honorable, gritty person with eyes wide open & good epistemics, who wants to see AI go right, we’d love to work with you.

There has never been a more critical moment in history and it is up to us to shape it on behalf of those who come after us.

We’re hiring a Compute Partnerships Manager. This role is based out of our San Francisco office, five days a week. The position is a client-facing, high-ownership role for someone who can navigate ambiguity, build relationships, and take operationally complex deals from initial conversation through delivery.

This is not a back-office procurement role. You will work directly with partners and internal teams to unlock capacity, move deals forward, and solve the practical issues that arise when deploying supercomputing infrastructure.

What You Will Do

Provider Intake & Supply Management

- Source and onboard new GPU providers, securing additional compute capacity and diversifying our supply base

- Run first-touch intake calls with prospective GPU providers, gathering hardware specs, pricing, and availability

- Help vet incoming BOMs against SFC's cluster requirements, flagging gaps or non-standard components

- Keep provider profiles and capacity trackers current as new information comes in

Contract Triage & Follow-Up

- Track contracts through redline, review, and signature stages, flagging where things are stuck

- Maintain a clear log of open items, owners, and deadlines across the contract pipeline

- Work across supply, go-to-market, engineering, legal, and operations to move opportunities from prospect to signed agreement.

- Own the details needed to bring capacity online: timelines, dependencies, escalation paths, and partner communication.

Pipeline Organization & Reporting

- Own deal tracking, pipeline reporting, and CRM hygiene

- Run tight weekly reporting on pipeline stages and blockers

- Draft and maintain marketing collateral for providers: one-pagers, proposals, flyers, and decks

Account Mapping & Sales Enablement

- Map accounts and identify new prospective partners across datacenters, GPU operators, and financing groups interested in compute investment

- Draft and maintain marketing collateral for providers: one-pagers, proposals, flyers, and decks

Minimum Qualifications

- 2–4 years in partnerships, deal desk, BD, or a similar coordination-heavy role, preferably in B2B infrastructure, cloud, or marketplace businesses

- Pre-existing network across datacenter operators, neoclouds, or hyperscalers

- Detail-oriented, comfortable owning a high volume of contracts, follow-ups, and trackers without things slipping

- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills

- High ownership and bias to action

Preferred Qualifications

- Exposure to AI/ML workloads or GPU hardware specs

- Experience with contract redlining or deal desk workflows

- Comfortable reading a BOM or technical spec sheet

- Worked closely with technical or legal teams, even if not an expert in either

WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT

- It is not a traditional account-executive role.

- It is not a narrowly scoped procurement or back-office operations role.

- It is not a people-management role on day one.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
