IT Project Manager | Client Accounts | Brussels

Our client is a Belgian company specialised in integrating software solutions at its clients’ sites — heavily customised platforms it deploys, tailors and maintains in their environment, often for years.

What makes it stand out? Its accounts sit on long-term framework contracts. You inherit live projects, established relationships and a team that already knows the platforms, rather than starting from scratch.

Part of the technical delivery runs through an external partner, which makes managing the triangle between client, internal teams and partner a core part of the job rather than a side task.

As it grows, the company is looking for a senior IT Project Manager to take over an existing portfolio, with a path towards running a full programme already mapped out internally.

The job

  • You take ownership of several client accounts: implementations, contractual commitments, budgets, service quality and the relationship with decision-makers.
  • You are the point of contact between the client, the internal teams and the technical partner, and you keep a firm grip on the functional content of the work.

Role

  • Lead implementation and upgrade projects at the client’s site, from scoping through to go-live.
  • Manage budgets, deadlines and contractual commitments, arbitrating between what was promised to the client and what the partner can deliver.
  • Steer the external partner day to day: capacity, quality of deliverables, deadlines and escalations.
  • Work with the business analyst on scoping client needs: challenge requests, measure them against the platform and decide which customisations to retain.
  • Follow up on run and ticketing, anticipate contractual and budgetary risks, and bring the difficult trade-offs to the client.

Profile

  • Senior experience on the vendor side — integrator, software vendor or consultancy — deploying software solutions at external clients. A purely in-house background on corporate IT projects is not a fit for this role.
  • Comfortable with the functional side: you understand the solutions you deploy and can challenge an analysis rather than only coordinate. You also know your way around contractual mechanics, fixed-price and time-and-materials alike.
  • Fluent English is essential; diplomacy, administrative rigour and the ability to hold your ground with a demanding client.
