About Sandstone

Sandstone is on a mission to build a world in which we all work only on what matters. From day one, we've been clear about what we are—and are not. We are not replacing in-house legal teams. We are building a platform that amplifies them.

Our platform enables modern legal teams to move at the speed of AI, deliver better outcomes, and create measurable business value. We unify legal data, power end-to-end workflows, and organize business context within the tools teams already use. Sandstone is the home for AI-native legal departments.

Today, Sandstone is trusted by Fortune 500 companies and fast-growing innovators alike. We ship quickly, iterate relentlessly, and scale with intention. In the last twelve months, we've raised our Seed from Sequoia and our Series A from Lightspeed; the team has grown this year from 15 to over 40, and we're just getting started.

When you join Sandstone, you become part of a team that believes deeply in the compounding power of collaboration, rigorous problem-solving, and obsessive attention to detail. Our engineering team is elite, our lawyers ship code every day, and we are dedicated to building the most delightful product an in-house lawyer opens in the morning—and closes at the end of the day.

We work five days a week out of our offices in the Lower East Side. Dogs welcome; shoes optional; chess encouraged.

About The Role

We need a Founding Growth Marketer to build the system that turns Sandstone's momentum into a predictable pipeline. Our product wins when it gets in front of the right legal teams; your job is to get it in front of more of them, more efficiently. You'll figure out which channels, messages, and offers move in-house legal buyers, then turn the ones that work into programs we can run again and again. You'll collaborate closely with our co-founders Nick Fleisher and Jarryd Strydom, Sales, Partnerships, Design, and Product.

To be successful in this role, you will be someone who thrives working in an early-stage, green field environment with a high degree of autonomy. "Ship relentlessly" is a core value of our team: we are all builders, and we expect you will be, too. We have ambitious marketing goals for the next twelve months, we do not have all the answers yet, and growth marketing will be a crucial accelerant for our team. For the right person with the capacity to achieve great things subject to constraints, this is going to be the thrill of your life.

We are looking for someone who can adeptly handle both the quantitative and qualitative sides of marketing. We need as a team to master our marketing metrics, but we also aspire to continually experiment with original marketing ideas. We are also looking for someone with a balance between strategic vision and operational execution. We want you to debate with us your well-reasoned perspectives on what we should do, and we also want you to be comfortable figuring out the nitty-gritty of ad accounts or CRM workflows. You'll also need good judgment: our buyers are lawyers who are protective of their reputations and skeptical of AI hype, and you'll know the line between a campaign that gets noticed and one that costs us trust.

What You'll Own

Co-create our 2027 marketing strategy with our executive team, own crucial metrics for growing the business and track our progress over time

Manage the process for building and iterating on fresh creative, utilizing AI tooling where feasible and managing relationships with external creative partners

Own pipeline generation end to end: set pipeline targets with Sales, decide where the next dollar goes, and report back on what it returned

Build a single source of truth for our funnel: instrument the website, CRM, and ad platforms so every program ties from first touch through closed-won, with sourced and influenced pipeline kept separate

Run a steady cadence of experiments across audiences, channels, messaging, offers, and landing pages. Every test ends in a decision: double down, fix it, or kill it

Turn events, executive dinners, and webinars into measurable pipeline: prioritize them by ICP overlap, automate invites and follow-up, and measure the return on each

Stand up our marketing operations: lead routing, handoff SLAs with Sales, nurture programs, and the dashboards leadership uses to make decisions. Use AI, automation, and a lean stack to get leverage without adding headcount

Find and test the channels we aren't running yet, and build the investment case for the ones that earn it

What You'll Bring

5+ years in growth, demand generation, or performance marketing, ideally including time as an early marketing hire at a high-growth B2B startup selling to sophisticated buyers

A track record of building channels from zero and then scaling them, with pipeline, CAC, and payback numbers you can walk us through

You know your numbers cold: what changed, why it changed, and what you decided because of it. You build your own dashboards and read the data yourself

Hands-on experience connecting ad platforms, website analytics, and a CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) so channels optimize toward qualified opportunities and revenue, not clicks

Experience partnering with enterprise sales teams on account-based programs, and a feel for what makes an AE want to work a marketing-sourced lead

A habit of using AI, automation, and tools like Clay to do more with a small team

Creative enough to come up with unconventional experiments, and the judgment to know which ones would hurt a brand built on the trust of lawyers

High agency and low ego: you'd rather write the email, build the landing page, and QA the tracking yourself than wait on someone else

Bonus:

Experience in legal tech, legal operations, or building products used by in-house legal teams.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
