As a top 10 global dairy processor, we value contributions that matter and strive to foster an inclusive, growth-driven work environment. Ready to bring your best?

Overview of the Role

Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P. is seeking a highly organized and proactive Maintenance Schedule to join our growing team.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and working closely with the Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Planner, and Maintenance Coordinator (MRO), the Maintenance Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and controlling the daily and weekly maintenance execution schedule. The role ensures prioritized preventive, corrective, compliance, and project work is appropriately sequenced and assigned to available maintenance labour resources in alignment with operational requirements, supporting safe, efficient, and effective maintenance execution.

The Maintenance Scheduler partners with the Maintenance Planner to convert properly planned, prioritized, and fully kitted work orders into an executable schedule. The Scheduler ensures work is sequenced and assigned based on technician availability, skills, qualifications, equipment availability, and operational priorities. The Scheduler also applies approved frequency-based preventive maintenance (PM) plans to the execution schedule and supports completion within defined compliance windows.

The Maintenance Scheduler maintains the prioritized maintenance backlog by controlling the sequencing and timing of work orders in accordance with approved priority rules. The role maintains schedule integrity by balancing preventive, corrective, compliance, project, and emergent work. Working closely with the Maintenance Planner, Production, Quality Control, and Operations support teams, the Scheduler confirms maintenance windows, communicates execution schedules, coordinates schedule changes, and helps minimize operational conflicts and downtime.

The Maintenance Scheduler collaborates with the Maintenance Coordinator (MRO) to confirm material and parts readiness and works with maintenance technicians to ensure the schedule is practical and feasible for execution. In partnership with the Maintenance Supervisor, the Scheduler supports daily work execution, coordinates labour and overtime requirements, schedules training and skills development activities, and monitors planned versus actual task completion times to ensure accurate CMMS feedback that supports scheduling accuracy, workforce readiness, and continuous improvement.

This position also provides an opportunity for the successful candidate to broaden their knowledge of maintenance planning practices and develop additional planning capabilities over time.

How you will make contributions that matter:

  • Develop and manage daily and weekly maintenance execution schedules based on work prepared and prioritized by the Maintenance Planner
  • Convert planned, approved, and fully kitted work orders into practical and executable schedules
  • Sequence preventive, corrective, compliance, project, and urgent maintenance activities based on approved priorities
  • Schedule work based on technician availability, skills, qualifications, operational requirements, and equipment access
  • Work with the Maintenance Supervisor to support daily execution, labour allocation, overtime requirements, and schedule adjustments
  • Coordinate with the Maintenance Coordinator (MRO) to confirm material and parts readiness and manage work orders waiting for parts
  • Work with maintenance technicians to confirm that scheduled work is feasible and identify execution constraints
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with Production, Quality Control, and Operations to minimize schedule conflicts and downtime
  • Monitor schedule adherence, backlog progress, and preventive maintenance completion, and capture planned-versus-actual execution feedback in the CMMS
  • Schedule maintenance training and skills development time in coordination with the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Manager
  • Support maintenance best practices and continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean, TPM, RCM, and FMEA
  • Build knowledge of maintenance planning processes and support selected planning activities as experience and capability develop
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Post‑secondary certification in engineering, technology, trades, or a related field
  • Certification or training in CMRP, PMP, or maintenance planning and scheduling methodologies (advantageous)
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or production maintenance environments
  • Strong understanding of maintenance execution, scheduling, and backlog management principles
  • Experience administering Fiix, SAP, or similar CMMS systems
  • Experience coordinating maintenance teams, contractors, or operational schedules
  • Interest and potential to develop broader maintenance planning capabilities

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of maintenance scheduling, execution control, and backlog management
  • Strong technical knowledge of CMMS systems and advanced computer proficiency.
  • Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office (required); knowledge of Power BI is an advantage.
  • Highly organized with strong analytical, effective collaboration skills and strong professional communication.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Dependable, proactive, and effective in cross‑departmental collaboration with ability to lead, coach and liaise.
  • Able to work effectively with the Maintenance Planner, Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Coordinator (MRO), and maintenance technicians.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
