The posting

Position:

Exeter High School in SAU 16 seeks outstanding applicants for the position of Unified Basketball Coach at Exeter High School.

Responsibilities: The Unified Basketball Coach is responsible for planning and leading practices, developing basketball skills, and creating an inclusive, positive, and supportive environment where all student-athletes can participate, grow, and experience success. The coach oversees team communication, supervises athletes during practices and competitions, collaborates with Unified partners and support staff, and promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, and respect while ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants.

Qualifications:

  • Has the ability to organize and supervise a Basketball program.
  • Has previous successful coaching experience preferred.
  • The coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport, at the same time, must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to Basketball.
  • The coach must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through his/her instructions and actions.

Duties And Responsibilities:

  1. Has a thorough knowledge of all the athletic policies of Exeter High School.
  2. Has knowledge of existing NHIAA regulations.
  3. Understands the proper administrative line of command and refers all requests or grievances through proper channels. Is aware of all public/staff/departmental meetings that require attendance.

Administrative Duties:

  1. Assists the athletic director in scheduling, providing transportation and requirements for tournament and special sport events.
  2. Assists in the necessary preparation to hold scheduled sport events or practices and adheres to scheduled facility times.

Student Responsibilities:

  1. Serves as a mentor to each athlete to promote the development and demonstration in student athletes the character traits of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.
  2. Gives constant attention to a student athlete's grades and conduct.
  3. By his/her presence at all practices games and while traveling, provides assistance, guidance and safeguards for each participant.

Reports to: The athletic director, who provides overall objectives and final evaluation in conjunction with the high school principal.
