Beauty Systems Group, branded as Cosmo Prof or Armstrong McCall stores, along with its direct sales consultants, sell professionally branded products intended for use and resale by salons to retail consumers.Works with merchandising to complete the following: provide accurate recaps for ordering promotions from the manufacturers, establish promotional order schedule to ensure timely shipping of promotional orders and ensure product SKUs are setup appropriately and make any changes to promotional orders to ensure timely shipping of promotional orders.

Essential Function:

The Assistant Franchise Category Planner works in coordination with vendors, the BSG MerchantsBuyers, stores, management and franchisees to determine optimum purchase quantities of promotional and sell-through of products by vendor by month. Strongly partners with Planning & Allocation to ensure proper flow of product to support franchise needs.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze product sales history and factors influencing successful and unsuccessful sales results.
  • Partner with both Merchant and Marketing for Shopping Guide or magazine placement by SKU based on strongest ROI/unit turns.
  • Recommends sales targets and order quantities - both sales out and receipts in - for contract negotiations.
  • Determine optimum purchase quantities of existing products considering sales history and likely continuation of appeal for the products.
  • Determine optimum purchase quantities of new products considering product features, similarity to and differentiation from existing products and anticipated demand for the new products based on those features.
  • Negotiate, secure and execute all promotional details.
  • Negotiate, create and forecast coops for vendor funding support. Works closely with Merchant Finance Partners for coop forecast visibility.
  • Create, negotiate, communicate with buyers and merch finance with tracking and processing all AMLP coops.
  • Assists AMLP planners as needed to execute franchise business practices.
  • Input monthly order placement and future forecasting.
  • Maintain communication and interaction with key stakeholders (vendors, merchandise staff, stores, management, FS management). Gather and consolidate input from stakeholders relative to product information, trends, needs, plan adjustments, etc...

Knowledge, skills & abilities requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience preferred • 2-3 years of relevant work experience working in Customer Service or Administrative Assistant related fields. • Being proficient with MS Office tools such as Word, Excel, Adobe and Outlook is necessary. • Experience with ERP systems

Working conditions & physical requirements

Location: Hybrid | Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday at the Sally Beauty Support Center, Legacy West (Plano, TX); Remote Thursday and Friday

The typical working environment is in the support center office, and the work is sedentary. Typically, the associate may sit comfortably to do the job. However, some tasks and activities may be walking, standing, bending, carrying light items such as papers, files, books, and small parts, driving an automobile to a store location, etc. These activities are not frequent and do not require significant physical demands to perform the work.

While involving everyday risks or discomforts, the work environment is designed with standard safety precautions. These precautions, typical of offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, residences, or commercial vehicles, include using safe work practices with office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, ensuring the safety and comfort of our associates.
