Job Summary

The Manager of Staff is responsible for overseeing a team of staff employees, ensuring their performance and results align with the company's objectives. This role requires setting clear performance objectives, conducting reviews, and recommending pay actions. The manager will define a vision for the team that aligns with departmental strategies and operational challenges while working autonomously with some guidance from senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Define and share the technical/functional team roadmap and vision according to departmental and company objectives.
  • Set performance objectives for team members and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Report on team activities and provide insights into performance and results.
  • Develop plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges efficiently.
  • Suggest alternatives, improvements, and new techniques in processes, operational models, and plans.
  • Mitigate budgetary impact on business decisions while ensuring alignment with policies and procedures.
  • Manage the investigation and resolution of production support issues and customer inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with other software development, architecture, solutions, and QA teams to ensure systems are designed for testability, stability, scalability, and performance.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on team management and development.
  • Excellent communication skills to ensure timely and appropriate updates to team members regarding company information.
  • Ability to optimize efficiency based on extensive knowledge of policies, procedures, and the business plan.
  • Proven experience in reporting and accountability for team performance within a given discipline or function.
  • Experience in budget management and understanding the financial impact of decisions.
  • Technical proficiency with software development processes and methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to anticipate solutions to complex challenges.

  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams and fostering collaborative environments.
  • Familiarity with advanced monitoring and testing tools for software systems.
  • Knowledge of change management and process improvement methodologies.

Experience
