SME– General Accounting (Grade 13)

## Job Summary The SME - General Accounting will be responsible for overseeing all accounting and reporting activities for a specific country or cluster within ABB's Finance & Accounting Operations. This role focuses on ensuring the timely and accurate completion of accounting tasks, compliance with internal guidelines and external regulations, and training other team members in accounting principles.

## Responsibilities - Monitor and manage the Accounting & Reporting activities for specific countries or clusters, ensuring timely recording of all General Accounting transactions in CFIN/ERP. - Coordinate with business units, Treasury, and Payroll teams to resolve unallocated transactions and prevent backlog. - Review reconciled General Ledger (GL) accounts to maintain accuracy and compliance. - Participate in Knowledge Transfer (KT) sessions to take over accounting activities from transitioning countries. - Standardize accounting processes across all clusters within your responsibility. - Implement newly developed programs to enhance accounting processes and participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) as required. - Address internal and external audit queries by providing necessary documentation and support. - Ensure compliance with all internal controls as per design. - Initiate quality improvement initiatives and conduct training on specific accounting and reporting topics as needed.

## Qualifications - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce. - Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in general accounting, reporting, reconciliation, and journal entry processing, with 5-10 years specifically at ABB preferred. - Strong experience in Record to Report (R2R) processes. - Must possess flexibility to work in various shift timings. - Excellent communication skills. - Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of SAP is essential.

## Preferred Skills - Advanced skills in financial reporting and analysis. - Experience with compliance auditing and risk management. - Familiarity with international accounting standards (IFRS or GAAP).

## Experience A minimum of 10-15 years of relevant experience in general accounting and financial reporting is required, with a substantial portion ideally gained within ABB.

## Environment This position will work on-site or in a hybrid model based in Bangalore, Karnataka, India, within the Finance & Accounting Operations division.
