The Job

The Senior Accountant - SCAN Temp will manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the finances in Healthcare In Action.

You Will

  • Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close and coordinate with the financial planning and analysis team to ensure that all expenses are recorded timely, accurately, and in accordance with GAAP.
  • Manage the accounts payable process to ensure the timely and accurate processing of payables and related monthly reporting.
  • Prepare year-end audit schedules for the financial audit. Support all internal, external, and regulatory audits as they relate to accounting and the financial reporting department.
  • Prepare and review all general ledger reconciliations and variance explanations. Assist, as needed, in the annual budget and reforecasting process.
  • Partner with other functional areas to ensure the company’s processes and procedures include the appropriate level of financial discipline.
  • Assist with drafting and updating corporate accounting manual and desk procedures.
  • Reviews and analyzes internal accounting processes and procedures for efficiency and effectiveness. Identifies compliance or performance gaps applies best practices to improve department results.
  • Accomplish staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching and counseling employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, in Accounting concentration preferred.
  • CPA is highly preferred.
  • 5+ years GAAP financial reporting experience at the management level.
  • General ledger, accounts receivable and reconciliation experience required.
  • Management level accounts payable experience, preferred.
  • Healthcare or health plan experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting and tax returns for for-profit companies, preferred .
  • Working knowledge of NetSuite, Bill.com, SAP Concur, Oracle Fusion and SmartView, highly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and all MS Office applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, required.
