The posting

Job title: Advisor Study Company: One of the leading mining companies Location: Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia Contract length: 1 year

Leads, plans, and coordinates the study stages of capital or closure projects, including the management of all technical and commercial areas. Accountable for safe and successful delivery of the study and its business case by ensuring. Professional requiring knowledge and experience in own technical or professional discipline. Solves a range of problems using largely defined procedures and solutions. Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction.

Job responsibilities:

- Study Planning & Design: Develop and manage study plans for capital and closure projects, including scope, objectives, methodologies, and business case development.

- Feasibility & Cost Analysis: Oversee Order of Magnitude (OOM) and Prefeasibility Studies, assessing technical feasibility, operational impacts, project costs, financial viability, and risks.

- Project Coordination: Manage consultants and contractors to ensure studies are delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.

- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with project sponsors, asset owners, technical experts, and cross-functional teams to support project decisions.

- Reporting & Documentation: Prepare study reports, cost estimates, risk assessments, and management presentations. Monitor project performance and escalate issues.

- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve study processes, cost estimation accuracy, and project delivery efficiency.

- Portfolio Management: Support the evaluation, prioritization, and selection of capital projects based on feasibility studies and strategic business objectives.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Civil, Mechanical, or HVAC Engineering) or a related discipline. - Experience managing engineering or capital project studies. - Knowledge of engineering studies, construction, and manufacturing environments. - Strong understanding of engineering standards, regulations, and industry best practices. - Solid project management skills with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders. - Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strategic mindset. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management software, SharePoint, and Power BI is preferred. - Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly. - 3–5 years of experience in study management, project management, or capital projects. - At least 3 years of relevant industry experience, or equivalent practical experience. - Good command of English is an advantage. - Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities to meet tight deadlines.
