Welcome patients, manage bookings and billing, and keep our Sunnybank cardiology, sleep and respiratory clinic running smoothly.

Scope Healthcare is a steadily growing healthcare group delivering cardiac, sleep and respiratory diagnostics, radiology and accredited healthcare education. Our Sunnybank clinic is home to Heartscope and Sleepscope, offering echocardiograms, heart and blood pressure monitoring, sleep and respiratory consultations, home sleep studies and lung function tests. Our team continues to expand year on year as our services grow.

We're now looking for a friendly, organised Medical Receptionist to join our Sunnybank clinic part time. You'll be the first point of contact for our patients, manage the clinic's bookings and billing, and support our cardiac, sleep and respiratory teams. Whether you've worked in medical reception before or are taking your first step into healthcare, we'll give you the training and support you need.

What you will do

  • Welcome every patient. Greet patients as they arrive, check them in, confirm their details and referral, and explain what to expect from their test or consultation.
  • Manage appointments. Book, confirm and reschedule tests and specialist consultations, and keep each day's lists running on time.
  • Answer calls and enquiries. Respond to patients, GPs and specialists by phone and email, and pass clinical questions to the right member of the team.
  • Process billing and payments. Bulk bill eligible patients through Medicare, take private payments, and take and refund deposits for take-home heart monitors and sleep study kits.
  • Keep accurate records. Enter and update patient details, referrals and appointments in our practice software, and handle personal and health information confidentially.
  • Support the clinical team. Help our clinicians stay on schedule, prepare paperwork, and keep reception and the waiting room tidy and well stocked.

Requirements

You're warm and professional with patients, calm when the phones are busy, and careful with every detail.

We're looking for:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, in person, on the phone and in writing.
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to juggle phones, bookings and patients at a busy front desk.
  • Confident computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • A reliable, positive approach, a professional presentation and a willingness to learn.
  • Full working rights in Australia.

Previous medical reception or healthcare administration experience, and experience with medical software such as HealthTrack, will be highly regarded.

The ability to communicate with patients in Mandarin will also be highly regarded, but is not essential.
