The posting

As Scout’s Treasury Manager, you will play a key role in managing the company’s liquidity, banking relationships, financing obligations, and treasury operations across Scout’s growing portfolio of utility-scale wind, solar, and energy storage projects. Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Finance, you will take ownership of Scout’s day-to-day treasury activities while building the processes, controls, and reporting needed to support a growing, capital-intensive business.

You will work closely with Scout teams to anticipate funding needs, execute cash movements, administer banking and credit arrangements, and provide leadership with clear visibility into Scout’s liquidity position. You will also support project financings and other transactions by coordinating funding mechanics, closing flows, letters of credit, debt activity, and post-close treasury administration.

This role is well suited for a hands-on treasury professional who combines strong technical knowledge with sound judgment, attention to detail, and a continuous-improvement mindset. You will be expected to independently manage multiple workstreams, identify and communicate risks early, develop practical solutions, and serve as a trusted partner to internal stakeholders and Scout’s external banking partners.

While your responsibilities will vary from day to day, you will work toward the following consistent objectives:

Treasury Responsibilities

  • Own Scout’s short- and medium-term cash and liquidity forecasting across corporate and project entities, incorporating development, construction, operating, debt, tax equity, M&A, and sponsor funding activity.
  • Manage daily cash positioning, bank activity, payments, intercompany funding, and liquidity to ensure cash is available in the right entities at the right time while maintaining appropriate controls.
  • Administer Scout’s banking infrastructure, including bank accounts, authorized signatories, online banking platforms, user access, payment approvals, and integrations with Oracle and other systems.
  • Manage corporate credit facilities, letters of credit, borrowing activity, debt schedules, interest payments, covenant requirements, and recurring lender reporting in coordination with Finance and Accounting.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Scout’s corporate banking partners and serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for banking services, account administration, implementation needs, and issue resolution.
  • Monitor banking fees, counterparty exposure, account structures, and service performance and provide recommendations that improve efficiency, control, economics, and scalability.
  • Support interest-rate and foreign-exchange risk analysis, treasury policy compliance, and recurring financial risk reporting, including activities related to Scout’s U.S. and Canadian entities.
  • Partner with Project Finance and other transaction teams on capital markets and project finance activity, including funding mechanics, sources-and-uses coordination, closing flows, debt draws, letters of credit, account setup, and post-close administration.
  • Develop and maintain accurate treasury reporting for the Vice President of Finance and other senior leaders, highlighting liquidity, near-term funding requirements, debt and credit availability, financial exposures, and emerging risks.
  • Strengthen treasury controls, documentation, approval processes, and operating procedures in partnership with Accounting and other control functions.
  • Identify and lead treasury process improvements and automation opportunities, including enhancements to Oracle, banking platforms, reporting tools, and related workflows.
  • Maintain clear, audit-ready treasury records and support annual audits, lender requests, compliance reviews, and other recurring information needs.
  • Mentor and develop treasury resources as the function grows, providing day-to-day guidance, quality review, and clear priorities.
  • Serve as Scout’s internal subject-matter expert for day-to-day treasury matters and proactively communicate material liquidity, banking, financing, or control considerations to the appropriate stakeholders.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Build strong working relationships across Scout teams whose activities affect cash requirements and funding timing.
  • Translate complex treasury and financing considerations into clear, actionable recommendations for colleagues with varying levels of financial expertise.
  • Coordinate across teams to improve the accuracy and timing of cash forecasts and ensure material changes in project schedules, transactions, or funding assumptions are reflected promptly.
  • Represent Scout professionally with banks, lenders, advisers, counterparties, and other external partners and escalate material issues with a recommended path forward.
  • Contribute to special projects and broader Finance initiatives that support Scout’s continued growth and evolving capital needs.

Personal Characteristics

  • Ownership mindset and the judgment to independently move work forward while escalating material risks appropriately.
  • Collaborative working style, with the ability to earn trust across functions and with external partners.
  • High attention to detail paired with the ability to understand the broader commercial and strategic context.
  • Resourceful, solutions-oriented approach and comfort operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, including building scalable processes, controls, and tools as Scout grows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in corporate treasury, finance, banking, or a related field, including demonstrated ownership of complex workstreams and cross-functional deliverables.
  • Strong working knowledge of cash management, liquidity forecasting, banking administration, debt and credit facilities, letters of credit, treasury controls, and financial risk management.
  • Experience working with multiple legal entities and complex cash flows in a growing or capital-intensive business environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP, treasury, and online banking systems; Oracle experience is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize detailed financial information, identify risks, and communicate clear conclusions and recommendations.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet firm deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to build productive relationships across functions and with external partners.
  • Experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, power, project finance, or another capital-intensive industry is preferred.
  • CTP, CPA, CFA, or MBA is a plus.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
