The posting

Here at Scout Motors, we're carrying forward the heritage of one of the most iconic American vehicles in history. A vehicle dating back to 1960. One that forged the path for future generations of rugged SUVs and trucks and will do so once again.

But Scout is more than just a brand, it’s a legacy steeped in a culture of exploration, caretaking, and hard work.

The Scout brand is all about respect. Respect for the past and the future by taking an iconic American brand that hasn’t been around for a while, electrifying it, digitizing it, and loading it with American innovation. Respect for communities by creating a company that stands for its people and its customers. Respect for both work and play, with vehicles that are equally at home at a camp site, a job site, or on a Tuesday commute. And respect for our customers by developing two powertrains that meet their requirements — an all-electric powertrain as well as the Harvester™ range extender powertrain which includes a built-in gas-powered generator with an estimated 500 miles of combined range.

At Scout Motors, we empower our talented, inclusive, and entrepreneurial teams to innovate. What makes a Scout employee? Someone who is a visionary and a leader, who seeks new paths and shares lessons learned. A knowledgeable doer who collaborates across the company to build better. A go-getter with unrivaled passion.

Join us at Scout Motors and be part of shaping the future of transportation. If you're ready to drive change and make history, apply now!

Overview

Scout Motors is seeking a strategic, entrepreneurial, and relationship-driven Specialist, Brand Commercial, to help build the broader Scout world.

The Specialist, Brand Commercial will own assigned workstreams within the development and execution of partnerships, sponsorships, licensing programs, and commercial collaborations that extend Scout beyond transportation and into culture, community, adventure, and everyday life. This role creates meaningful connections between Scout and the brands, organizations, experiences, and communities that share our values and resonate with our customers.

As a key member of the Brand team, you will grow Scout as a modern lifestyle brand by evaluating opportunities that expand awareness, strengthen cultural relevance, deepen customer engagement, and create long-term business value. You will manage assigned partnerships and programs that enhance the Scout experience while supporting broader brand and business objectives.

Working cross-functionally with teams across Marketing, Communications, Events, Product, Retail, Legal, and Finance, you will evaluate opportunities, manage partner relationships, contribute to negotiations, coordinate activations, and measure performance. You will independently execute assigned work within established brand and commercial strategies, adapting existing approaches to unusual circumstances and seeking review at critical decision points.

The ideal candidate is equal parts strategist, connector, and builder. They are energized by discovering new opportunities, cultivating relationships, and bringing ideas to life through thoughtful execution. They understand how partnerships can create both brand and business value and are excited by the opportunity to help shape how Scout shows up in the world beyond traditional marketing.

This role is ideal for someone who is naturally curious, highly collaborative, commercially minded, and passionate about building a brand that people want to be part of, not just purchase from. Through partnerships, sponsorships, licensing, and emerging commercial opportunities, you will create experiences, relationships, and extensions that bring the Scout brand to life.

What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

Licensing Strategy & Management

  • Own assigned elements of Scout’s brand licensing strategy and portfolio within established brand and commercial objectives.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to extend the Scout brand into relevant products, services, and consumer touchpoints by assessing identifiable brand, customer, financial, legal, and execution factors.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with assigned licensing partners and agencies, coordinating with internal teams to deliver program execution, performance, and brand compliance.
  • Partner with Brand & Strategy, Creative, Design, and Legal teams to evaluate tradeoffs and ensure licensed products and programs align with Scout’s brand standards and business objectives.
  • Monitor consumer, category, and competitive trends; adapt established licensing approaches and recommend the appropriate course of action for assigned opportunities.

Brand Partnerships, Sponsorships & Growth

  • Develop and manage assigned strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and brand collaborations that drive brand awareness, cultural relevance, and brand and business impact.
  • Identify and evaluate partnership opportunities in key markets across brands, organizations, communities, associations, and like-minded businesses that align with Scout’s values and growth objectives.
  • Develop partnership strategies, business cases, and recommendations for assigned opportunities, using precedent and adapting existing approaches where circumstances require.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, advising internal and external stakeholders on difficult program matters and driving initiatives through agreed objectives.
  • Lead defined elements of partnership and sponsorship negotiations, contract development, and relationship management in collaboration with Legal, Finance, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Partner closely with Brand, Creative, Communications, Marketing, and Events teams to integrate partnership initiatives across the enterprise and customer experience.
  • Assess emerging partnership models, sponsorship opportunities, and cultural trends; recommend actions that can strengthen the Scout brand and unlock growth.
  • Manage budget planning, investment tracking, and program delivery for assigned partnership and sponsorship initiatives, escalating material risks or exceptions at critical points.

Measurement & Optimization

  • Define and track key performance indicators across assigned Brand Commercial programs, including licensing, partnerships, and sponsorships.
  • Develop reporting that measures brand, audience, and business outcomes.
  • Analyze program performance, evaluate identifiable drivers and constraints, and recommend improvements to future investments and partner effectiveness.
  • Develop scorecards, frameworks, and processes that drive consistency, accountability, and long-term program success within the assigned scope.
  • Communicate insights, risks, and recommendations to differing audiences, adjusting the level of detail to support planning and decision-making.
  • Own the structure and coordination of the Quarterly Business Review process for Brand Commercial with internal and external stakeholders, with leadership review at critical points.

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects across multiple stakeholders and drive assigned workstreams through completion.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen with experience evaluating partnership performance, business impact, and competing considerations.
  • Ability to assess unusual circumstances, adapt established approaches, recommend a course of action, and escalate decisions outside assigned authority.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-management skills, including the ability to advise on difficult matters and adapt communication for senior and non-specialist audiences.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
