Associate Director – Product Management

Job Summary

We are seeking an Associate Director - Product Management to take full ownership and scale one or more lending product lines end to end. This role involves managing everything from strategy and roadmap development to underwriting workflows, disbursal experience, and collections. The ideal candidate will have experience building lending products within a regulated Indian fintech environment and possess a deep understanding of the entire credit lifecycle beyond just the front-end user journey. This is a high-ownership, founder-adjacent position requiring strategic vision and hands-on execution.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product strategy, roadmap, and profit & loss (P&L) management for a lending vertical such as personal loans, SME/LAP (Loan Against Property), or embedded credit.
  • Collaborate with credit/risk, compliance, and engineering teams to design underwriting flows incorporating eKYC, Account Aggregator, bureau/ML scorecards that optimize approval rates while maintaining portfolio quality.
  • Ensure disbursal-flow integrity by implementing reconciliation checks and control frameworks in partnership with engineering and risk teams, eliminating gaps between backend logic and frontend blocking behavior.
  • Define and monitor collections and portfolio health metrics in collaboration with collections and analytics teams.
  • Manage co-lending and Lending Service Provider (LSP) structures by working closely with NBFC (Non-Banking Financial Company) and bank partners to align products and processes.
  • Interpret and translate Reserve Bank of India (RBI) regulatory requirements and evolving guidelines into product and process adaptations.
  • Develop and present product roadmaps and business cases to founders and leadership, supported by data and clear tradeoff analysis.
  • Mentor and guide a small team of product managers and analysts, working cross-functionally with engineering, design, risk, compliance, and business teams.

Qualifications

  • Overall experience of 6-10 years, with at least 3+ years of product management experience specifically in fintech lending, covering areas such as personal loans, SME lending, LAP, BNPL, or embedded credit.
  • Proven experience managing products across the full credit lifecycle: origination, underwriting, disbursal, and collections.
  • Strong working knowledge of Indian lending infrastructure such as eKYC, Account Aggregator framework, bureau data, co-lending/LSP models, and RBI regulatory environment.
  • High analytical rigor with the ability to define metrics, interpret portfolio and risk data, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Demonstrated capability to operate strategically (roadmaps, business plans) while maintaining hands-on involvement in execution details.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including experience presenting to founders or senior leadership.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with partner or channel-led distribution models such as Direct Selling Agents (DSAs), freelancer/agent networks, or similar.
  • Exposure to AI/ML-driven product initiatives including scorecards, recommendation engines, conversational AI, or voicebots.
  • Prior experience working in a scale-up or early-stage fintech environment characterized by high ambiguity.

Environment

  • The work environment details such as location or remote/hybrid setup are not specified.
  • The role involves cross-functional collaboration with multiple teams including engineering, risk, compliance, and business units.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
