Director – Founder’s Office/ Chief of Staff

Job Summary

The Director – Founder’s Office/ Chief of Staff is a strategic, high-visibility role reporting directly to the Founder & CEO. The incumbent will work closely with the founder to drive cross-functional alignment, oversee strategic initiatives, and improve operational efficiency across the organization. This role involves managing stakeholder relationships, supporting business planning, and leading organization-wide reviews, with a focus on enabling rapid execution and strategic growth. The position requires a dynamic professional capable of operating across India and the US, with a strong emphasis on data-driven decision-making and organizational leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Cross-Functional Execution: Act as the connective tissue between Growth, Category, Product, and Operations teams across India and the US, ensuring priorities are executed efficiently and effectively. Support the CEO in organizational performance reviews.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Assist in developing and managing management dashboards. Analyze MIS, operations, and platform data to identify gaps and areas for improvement.
  • New Initiatives: Conduct market research and develop go-to-market strategies for new products and experiments. Take ownership of initiatives to validate concepts and inform resource allocation.
  • Investor Relations: Support the preparation of board materials and investor communications.
  • Business Planning & Annual Operating Plan (AOP): Collaborate with the COO to drive macro-level business planning, design the AOP, and establish organizational targets across functions.
  • Team Building & Organizational Reviews: Lead organization-wide reviews and support team development efforts to foster a high-performance culture.

Qualifications

  • Educational Qualification: Tier-1 MBA from a reputed institute.
  • Experience: 6+ years of work experience, preferably a mix of management consulting and founder’s office roles in a startup environment.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong financial modeling and business planning capabilities.
  • Proficiency in strategic analysis and operational management.
  • Experience with data analysis and MIS tools.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills (internal and external).
  • High agency, bias for action, and a first-principles thinking approach.
  • Structured, analytical, and operationally hands-on mindset.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to balance IQ and EQ effectively.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Ability to operate across multiple geographies, especially India and the US.
  • Flexibility to operate during late evening IST hours to overlap with US time zones.
