Founding CTO

## Job Summary SYMTHO is seeking a Founding Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead the technology vision and execution for its WhatsApp-based health navigation service tailored for rural India. The CTO will take ownership of an existing product stack, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and drive the company’s technology strategy as it establishes its presence in India. This role is critical in shaping the company’s future, acting as the technical lead and CTO of record for investors.

## Responsibilities - Own and manage an LLM (Large Language Model)-based product integrated with a rule-based safety layer currently in production. - Ensure the product complies with healthcare and regulated domain standards, ideally including medical device software standards such as IEC 62304 and ISO 13485. - Adapt and optimize the technology stack for low-resource environments, including WhatsApp integration and support for Hindi and other Indian languages. - Lead the technology team and infrastructure as the founding CTO, setting technical direction and standards. - Act as the CTO of record in communications with investors and stakeholders. - Oversee the scaling and deployment of the product in rural Indian markets through licensed healthcare partners.

## Qualifications - Proven experience owning and managing an LLM-based product with a rule-based safety layer in production. - Strong knowledge of healthcare or other regulated domains, preferably with experience in medical device software development and compliance (IEC 62304, ISO 13485). - Expertise in building and scaling technology solutions for low-resource settings, including messaging platforms like WhatsApp. - Familiarity with Indian languages, especially Hindi, and their integration into technology products. - Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to take over and manage an existing technology stack. - Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with investors and stakeholders. - Educational background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.

## Preferred Skills - Experience working in or with rural Indian markets. - Prior involvement in B2B healthcare technology solutions. - Knowledge of equity-based compensation structures typical for early-stage startups. - Experience in startup environments and founding teams.

## Experience - Significant experience in product ownership and technology leadership roles. - Prior experience in regulated healthcare or medical device software environments. - Experience managing technology stacks in production with compliance and safety considerations.

## Environment - India-based role, with a preference for Bangalore but open to other locations. - The role involves working in a startup environment combining remote and in-office collaboration. - The candidate should be comfortable working in a resource-constrained setting focused on rural India.

## Salary - Compensation package includes a combination of cash salary and significant equity, consistent with early-stage startup norms.
