Head of Claims

## Job Summary The Head of Claims will oversee the entire claims management process, ensuring efficient, fair, and timely settlement of claims. This leadership role is critical in maintaining the company's reputation for integrity and customer service excellence, while also optimizing operational efficiency and compliance with regulatory standards.

## Responsibilities - Lead and manage the claims department, establishing policies, procedures, and standards for claims processing. - Oversee the end-to-end claims lifecycle, including claim assessment, validation, settlement, and dispute resolution. - Develop and implement strategies to improve claims handling efficiency, reduce turnaround times, and enhance customer satisfaction. - Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal audit standards related to claims management. - Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, legal, and customer service teams to streamline processes and resolve complex claims issues. - Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare reports for senior management to inform strategic decisions.

## Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Business Administration, Finance, or related field; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., FCII, FLMI) preferred. - Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in claims management within the life insurance industry. - Strong understanding of life insurance products, claims processes, and regulatory frameworks. - Proven leadership skills with experience managing large teams and cross-functional collaboration. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. - Proficiency in claims management software and MS Office Suite. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

## Preferred Skills - Experience with digital claims processing platforms and automation tools. - Knowledge of risk management and fraud detection techniques. - Ability to drive change management initiatives and process improvements. - Familiarity with compliance standards such as IRDAI regulations.

## Experience - Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in claims management, preferably within the life insurance sector. - Prior leadership experience in a senior claims role or department head position.

## Environment - The role is based in-office, with potential for hybrid work arrangements depending on company policies. - The work environment involves collaboration with multiple departments and requires attention to detail, compliance, and customer focus.
