The posting

The Senior Consultant - Energy Efficiency is a Hong Kong-based regional specialist responsible for leading and strengthening energy efficiency consulting and delivery across Australia, EAJ and Hong Kong. The role combines hands-on technical delivery with client advisory, project oversight, quality assurance, service development and capability building. The successful candidate will bring a proven track record of delivering energy efficiency engagements in a client-consultative environment, translating technical findings into practical, investable and implementable actions. The role will lead complex energy assessments and implementation-focused programs, guide multidisciplinary delivery teams, support priority client relationships, and help maintain consistent methods and high-quality outcomes across the regional portfolio. The role will also contribute to solutioning, proposals, commercial reviews, cross-sell identification and continuous improvement of tools and delivery processes. What will you do? 1. Regional Energy Efficiency Service Leadership Provide regional technical and delivery leadership for energy efficiency services across Australia, EAJ and Hong Kong. Oversee quality, consistency and fit-for-purpose application of energy efficiency methodologies, tools, deliverables and client recommendations. Act as a senior escalation point for complex technical, delivery and client issues, working with relevant leaders and subject matter experts. Support resource planning, work allocation and cross-regional collaboration for priority engagements. Monitor market and client needs and contribute to the evolution, localisation and regionalisation of energy efficiency services. 2. Client-Consultative Delivery Lead energy audits, assessments and opportunity-identification programs for commercial, industrial and multi-site clients. Facilitate client workshops and executive or operational discussions to define energy and emissions reduction objectives, constraints, governance and implementation priorities. Translate data, engineering analysis and site findings into clear recommendations, investment cases and phased implementation roadmaps. Challenge client assumptions constructively, shape practical solutions and build alignment across technical, financial and operational stakeholders. Maintain trusted-advisor relationships and hold clients and project stakeholders accountable for agreed actions and outcomes. 3. Technical Assessment and Implementation Assess energy-consuming systems and operational practices, including HVAC, controls, compressed air, steam, refrigeration, lighting, motors, process loads and other relevant systems. Quantify energy, cost and emissions savings; develop measurement approaches; and assess technical feasibility, delivery risk, capital requirements and payback. Prepare and review business cases, specifications, tender inputs, implementation plans and client-ready technical reports. Provide technical oversight during implementation, including contractor coordination, design or solution review, commissioning support and performance verification, where in scope. Apply sound safety, risk and quality practices throughout delivery. 4. Project Management and Commercial Enablement Lead multiple engagements from scoping and mobilisation through delivery, close-out and follow-on implementation support. Manage scope, schedule, budget, dependencies, risks, change control and client communication. Support opportunity qualification, solution design, effort estimation, pricing, proposal development and presentations. Identify appropriate cross-sell and follow-on opportunities based on demonstrated client needs, without compromising advisory integrity. Contribute to healthy project economics, timely delivery and a strong client experience. 5. Capability Building and Continuous Improvement Coach consultants and engineers through project reviews, technical guidance, knowledge sharing and on-the-job development. Develop and improve templates, calculation tools, methodologies, quality controls, case studies and reusable delivery assets. Capture lessons learned and promote consistent use of regional and global best practices. Collaborate with internal experts and adjacent service teams to deliver integrated energy and sustainability outcomes. What qualifications will make you successful? Proven track record leading and delivering energy efficiency consulting engagements in a client-consultative environment, from assessment through business case and implementation planning. Typically 7+ years of relevant experience in energy efficiency consulting, energy engineering, corporate energy management or a closely related field. Demonstrated experience engaging senior client stakeholders and influencing technical, operational and investment decisions. Strong knowledge of energy efficiency technologies, building and/or industrial energy systems, savings calculations, financial evaluation and implementation considerations. Experience managing complex or multi-site projects to agreed scope, schedule, budget and quality requirements. Ability to review and assure the work of others, resolve ambiguity and provide clear technical direction across geographically dispersed teams. Strong analytical capability, including experience handling large data sets and converting analysis into practical recommendations. Excellent written and verbal communication, workshop facilitation, presentation and client relationship skills. Commercial acumen, including scoping, effort estimation, proposal support and management of delivery economics. Ability and willingness to travel across the region as required. Bachelor's degree in engineering or another relevant technical discipline. A postgraduate qualification in energy, sustainability or business is advantageous. Relevant professional certification or registration in energy management, engineering, measurement and verification, or project management is advantageous. Demonstrated ongoing professional development in energy efficiency technologies, standards and consulting practices. What's in it for me? Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
