Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Specialist Visceral Surgeon to join a leading healthcare facility in the UAE. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in the surgical management of abdominal and digestive system disorders, including conditions affecting the stomach, intestines, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and other abdominal organs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and surgically manage a wide range of visceral and gastrointestinal conditions.
  • Perform elective and emergency abdominal surgical procedures.
  • Manage diseases affecting the stomach, small intestine, colon, rectum, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and spleen.
  • Perform laparoscopic and open abdominal surgeries, as appropriately trained.
  • Manage appendicitis, hernias, gallstones, bowel obstruction, and gastrointestinal perforations.
  • Perform colorectal procedures and manage complex intestinal disorders.
  • Evaluate and manage benign and malignant abdominal conditions.
  • Provide surgical treatment for gastrointestinal cancers, in collaboration with oncology teams.
  • Conduct preoperative assessments and develop individualized surgical treatment plans.
  • Manage postoperative care, complications, and surgical follow-up.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary care with gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiologists, and other specialists.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to patient safety standards.
  • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement, and departmental activities.

Requirements

  • MBBS / MBChB or equivalent recognized medical qualification.
  • Recognized Western specialist qualification in Visceral Surgery, General Surgery, or an equivalent relevant surgical specialty.
  • Relevant post-specialization clinical experience.
  • Current or previous registration with the relevant medical authority, as applicable.
  • Proven experience in open and minimally invasive abdominal surgical procedures.
  • Eligibility for Specialist licensing under the relevant UAE healthcare authority requirements.
