The Opportunity

Every day, thousands of manufacturers rely on Secomea's Secure Remote Access platform to securely connect engineers with the industrial equipment that keeps factories, utilities, and critical infrastructure running.

Secomea is entering its next phase of accelerated growth. Building on strong commercial momentum, the company is now strengthening its engineering teams as a strategic foundation for further growth.

We're hiring an Engineering Team Lead for one of our Cloud teams, reporting directly to the VP of Engineering. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with people leadership.

This is a role with significant influence in a growing international company where initiative, technical excellence, accountability, and impact matter.

What You'll Do

As Engineering Team Lead, you'll lead one of the engineering teams building the customer-facing heart of our cloud layer that brings together identity, governance, secure access, APIs, and user experience into a seamless experience trusted by industrial organizations worldwide. It enables enterprise IT to centrally govern secure access while allowing technicians to quickly find, access, and work with the industrial resources they're responsible for.

This is a hands-on engineering leadership role where leadership is an addition to engineering—not a move away from it. You'll spend much of your time designing, coding, reviewing code, solving complex technical problems, contributing to architectural decisions, and supporting production operations while serving as the direct people leader for your team.

You will work closely with UX, Product Management, and engineering teams across the platform to deliver intuitive user experience while maintaining the enterprise-grade governance, security, and reliability that industrial customers expect.

You'll solve challenging engineering problems spanning distributed cloud systems, APIs, identity, governance, scalability, observability, security, and user experience.

As a people leader, you will coach and support team members through regular feedback, development discussions, hiring activities, and performance management. You will drive engineering excellence through sound architecture, high code quality, and continuous improvement.

Success in this role requires both technical depth and the ability to create clarity, build trust, and help a team perform at a high level.

You will be part of Secomea's engineering leadership community, working closely with other Team Leads and Engineering Managers to evolve our technology organization, engineering practices, and technical direction.

What We’re Looking For

You may already be leading a team, or you may be a senior engineer who naturally takes ownership, mentors colleagues, and drives technical initiatives. In either case, you are motivated by helping people succeed and understand that strong teams are built through trust, communication, and shared accountability.

You have a strong software engineering background and significant experience building distributed software systems using modern technologies such as .NET and Azure. More importantly, you're curious, adaptable, and comfortable learning new technologies as products and platforms evolve.

Most importantly, we are looking for a strong team player who thrives in a rapidly growing environment and is energized by combining deep technical work with leading and inspiring people.

Experience We Value

You don't need to tick every box below, but you should bring a solid foundation in .NET and modern cloud technologies.

Core Skills

  • Strong experience with C# and .NET
  • Ability and curiosity to quickly master new technologies
  • Experience with modern databases, preferably document databases
  • Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools in production settings
  • Unit and integration testing — xUnit, NUnit, or MSTest; comfortable with TDD or BDD
  • Ability to work closely with UX and Product Management to translate customer needs into intuitive product experiences

Cloud Skills

  • Experience designing scalable, high-performance distributed systems, including performance analysis and optimization.
  • Experience designing, deploying, and operating distributed applications in public cloud environments. Experience with Azure is an advantage. Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a strong advantage.
  • Experience designing secure, scalable, and intuitive APIs.

Security and OT Knowledge

  • Core security concepts — encryption, authentication, and authorization for web applications and APIs.
  • Operational Technology (preferred) — familiarity with OT protocols such as Modbus, OPC UA, or MQTT, and the unique security challenges of ICS and SCADA environments.

Leadership Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a senior technical contributor with the ability and desire to remain hands-on while leading others.
  • You may already be leading a team, mentoring junior engineers, acting as a Staff Engineer, or simply be the person others naturally turn to for technical guidance. We care more about your ability to help others succeed than about previous management titles.

Just as important, you:

  • Take ownership and drive tasks to completion
  • Proactively identify gaps, risks, and improvements.
  • Translate high-level goals into concrete technical outcomes
  • Care about building robust systems that are stable and perform reliably in the real world.

You do not need to meet every requirement to be successful in the role. We value curiosity, ownership, and the ability to learn as highly as specific technical experience.

About Secomea

Secomea is a global leader in Operational Technology (OT) and secure remote access solutions for industrial environments. We help manufacturers, machine builders, and system integrators securely connect, monitor, and manage industrial equipment around the world.

Founded in Denmark in 2008, Secomea has spent more than fifteen years helping organizations enable protected access to their critical industrial infrastructure while supporting efficient and secure operations. Today, we serve customers globally through our offices in Denmark, the United States, Japan, and China, through a network of partners across more than 70 countries.

As cybersecurity and compliance become increasingly critical to industrial operations, our mission remains simple: Protecting the factory floor.

Why Join Secomea?

This role combines technical depth, product thinking, architectural influence, and people leadership in equal measure.

You'll help shape the customer-facing heart of Secomea's cloud layer, solving engineering challenges where distributed systems, identity, security, APIs, and user experience come together. Success isn't measured only by the quality of the software you build, but by how naturally enterprise governance and technician productivity work together.

As a Team Lead, you'll have genuine influence. You'll help shape the technical direction of the cloud layer, grow an experienced engineering team, and work closely with Product Management, UX, and fellow engineering leaders to define how the cloud layer evolves. You'll remain close to technology while helping others succeed.

Perhaps most importantly, your work has a tangible impact. Every improvement your team delivers helps manufacturers and critical infrastructure operators securely connect the people who keep factories, utilities, and essential infrastructure running. It's engineering where technical excellence directly improves how people work in the real world.

You'll join an engineering organization that's large enough to build globally trusted products, yet small enough that your technical decisions, leadership, and ideas genuinely shape the future of both the product and the company.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
