The posting

Are you curious about business development and excited to take initiative, contribute to new opportunities, and grow in a dynamic environment? Here, you will have a key position in expanding Sectra Communications in the Netherlands and surrounding European markets managed by the Dutch office. Together with the commercial team, local leadership, and headquarters in Sweden, you will play an important part in driving growth, building relationships, and supporting the business through high-impact commercial activities.

Sectra Communications operates at the intersection of cybersecurity, defence, and critical infrastructure. We develop secure communication solutions used by governments, defence organizations, and institutions where failure is simply not an option.

As Sectra Communications continues to grow across Europe, the office in the Netherlands plays an important role in strengthening the company’s presence closer to key markets outside Sweden. To support this growth, we are now expanding the team with a Junior Business Developer role focusing on accelerating market penetration, building long-term customer relationships, and driving strategic opportunities across the public sector and related industries. In close collaboration with the commercial teams in the Netherlands and HQ in Sweden, you will act as a key driver of growth while contributing with local market insight and regional execution.

The role

This role involves developing and driving business opportunities across the markets managed by the Dutch office, with a strong focus on secure communication solutions for governments, defence organizations, and critical infrastructure environments. You will work closely with experienced sales colleagues who will support you in building relationships, identifying opportunities, and developing your commercial skills.

You will operate at the intersection of technology, strategy, and trust—engaging with highly specialized customers in environments where security and performance are critical. This is not traditional sales; it is long-term relationship building combined with high-impact solution development.

Key responsibilities:

  • Identify, develop, and drive new business opportunities across the Netherlands and broader European market
  • Act as an ambassador for Sectra’s solutions in high-level customer dialogues
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships within public sector, defence, and related industries
  • Translate complex technical solutions into clear and compelling value propositions
  • Capture customer needs and convert them into business and product insights
  • Collaborate closely with sales, product, and engineering teams
  • Represent Sectra at exhibitions, industry events, and strategic meetings across Europe

Sectra's motto "Hire for attitude and ability. Train for skill." means that we place more emphasis on who you are and your potential than the knowledge and experience you possess today. However, we value attitude and ability to learn and take on new tasks quickly. An analytical mindset is essential to understand, break down, and solve complex problems. We also believe you are a strong communicator, with the ability to interact with colleagues, partners, and customers in an effective, clear, and constructive way.

In addition to this, we want you to have:

  • A Master’s degree with strong academic results
  • Strong technical interest
  • Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English
  • Commercial drive and eager to take ownership of your work
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Be able to create and deliver presentations tailored to the needs of different audiences

It’s a plus if you have:

  • Experience in sales or customer-facing roles
  • Experience with public sector / defence / NATO environments
  • Affinity with complex B2B environments (cybersecurity, government, defence, critical infrastructure)
  • Military service or conscription completed
  • Fluency in additional languages such as German, French, Spanish, Italian, or Swedish

Additional information: Dutch citizenship is required for this position.

What we offer:

A position with real ownership, directly influencing growth and revenue, within a fast scaling organization. where you help shape a function from the ground up. In addition we offer a highly competitive employment package with concrete, practical benefits:

  • Full setup to perform at your best (laptop, phone, noise-cancelling headset, etc.)
  • Flexible benefits via an extended IKB arrangement (e.g. extra leave, cash payout, training, mobility, or personal devices)
  • Strong mobility package, including travel compensation and options like lease-a-bike
  • Budget and support to set up a high-quality home workspace
  • Hybrid working with high flexibility, combined with regular in-office team collaboration
  • Personal development budget and support for jointly selected training and education
  • International exposure, including attending events, exhibitions, and meetings across Europe
  • Solid flexible pension scheme and additional insurances

We offer a strong overall package and a role with real impact — and we take the same level of care in selecting the right fit on both sides, to ensure long-term success and performance.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
