CORPORATE SECURITY OFFICER
Manhattan, NY | $25.50/Hour | Full-Time
Experienced Corporate Security Professionals Wanted
Securitas is seeking an experienced, professional, and highly observant Corporate Security Officer to join a specialized security team supporting a corporate client in Manhattan, NY.
This is an opportunity for an experienced security professional who understands that corporate security is about more than simply monitoring a post. The ideal candidate is confident assessing situations, recognizing potential threats, maintaining discretion, communicating effectively, and responding appropriately when circumstances require immediate attention.
You will help protect people, property, facilities, and business operations while providing a professional experience to employees, visitors, executives, and VIPs.
POSITION DETAILS
Pay: $25.50 per hour Location: Manhattan, NY Schedule: Full-Time
Environment: Professional corporate setting with indoor and outdoor responsibilities
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Corporate Security Officer, you will:
- Monitor and control access to the client's facility using established security systems and procedures.
- Proactively observe and identify suspicious, unusual, or concerning activity.
- Conduct interior and exterior patrols and security checks.
- Respond promptly and professionally to alarms, emergencies, security concerns, and unusual situations.
- Investigate and appropriately escalate security incidents.
- Prepare accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and other required documentation.
- Maintain a high level of awareness while protecting sensitive and confidential information.
- Assist with reception and departure of VIPs in coordination with the Executive Protection security team.
- Assist with the de-escalation of challenging interactions involving employees or visitors.
- Maintain consistent communication with the client and security team regarding special circumstances or concerns.
- Work with law enforcement and emergency personnel when serious situations arise.
- Provide professional customer service while maintaining security protocols and control.
- Operate security equipment, radios, mobile devices, access control systems, and other technology used in daily operations.
- Support special projects and additional security assignments as needed.
- Perform occasional duties outside of regularly scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for someone who is:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a licensed Security Officer (must show experience on current resume)
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in a corporate security environment.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must possess a valid U.S. state-issued driver's license or non-driver identification.
- Must possess and maintain a valid New York State Security Guard License.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- Ability to climb stairs and work across interior and exterior areas.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
The following experience is highly valued:
- Security Operations Center (SOC) or command center experience.
- Military or law enforcement background.
- Access control and visitor management systems.
- Alarm monitoring and response.
- Badging operations.
- Professional incident report writing.
- Genetec or other CCTV/security video systems.
- Microsoft Office, Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Google Workspace.
- PTT/radio communication systems.
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
- Experience with workplace technology platforms such as Slack or Box.
- Ability to use mobile devices and cameras for documentation.
- Ability to quickly communicate and escalate information by phone or radio.
PHYSICAL & WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires the ability to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Patrol interior and exterior areas.
- Climb stairs.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions when required.
- Maintain visual awareness and identify potential security concerns from a distance.
- Lift or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
