Job Description

About Us

Established in 2014, Sedgman Prudentia delivers multi-discipline engineering services across all phases of projects from research and development, piloting, option selection or optimisation studies, feasibility studies, front-end engineering and detailed design, project implementation, operational readiness and commissioning support.

Sedgman Prudentia offers optimal practical solutions to Energy, Chemicals and Mineral Processing industries and is able to leverage Sedgman's capability and capacity to enhance our service offering to clients.

With office locations in Adelaide and Brisbane, join us and be part of a team that values innovation, collaboration, and excellence in engineering and design solutions.

The opportunity:

Sedgman Prudentia is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to join our Brisbane team.

You will work across multiple project phases, from early-stage studies and design through to construction and commissioning support, collaborating closely with clients and multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver practical solutions to complex brownfield and minerals processing challenges.

What you'll do:

  • Contribute to electrical and instrumentation engineering activities across studies and multidisciplinary projects.
  • Take ownership of E&I technical deliverables, including specifications, calculations, drawings, scopes of work and work packs
  • Lead early-stage engineering studies, FEED and detailed design.
  • Work directly with clients to understand requirements and develop practical engineering solutions.
  • Support site investigations, construction, commissioning and contractor activities.
  • Review engineering work to ensure appropriate technical standards and project requirements are met.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other engineers and designers as required.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 7+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience, ideally within engineering consultancy, heavy industry, resources or minerals processing.
  • Strong electrical and instrumentation design capability.
  • Experience contributing to or leading engineering studies, scopes and multidisciplinary projects.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing engineering calculations and technical documentation.
  • Practical site experience across investigations, construction and commissioning.
  • Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and confidence working directly with clients.
  • Ability to develop single line diagrams, termination diagrams and schematics.
  • Competency in reading and interpreting piping and instrumentation diagrams.
  • Understanding of electrical power system studies and modelling software.

Highly regarded:

  • Minerals processing or heavy industry experience.
  • Brownfield project experience.
  • RPEQ, Chartered Engineer or other relevant professional registration.
  • FEED and feasibility study experience.
  • Control systems design experience.
  • Hazardous areas design and equipment specification.
  • HAZOP, process safety or machine safety experience.
  • Previous multidisciplinary engineering consultancy experience.
  • Previous experience leading or mentoring engineers and designers.

Why join Sedgman Prudentia?

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Take greater technical ownership of E&I deliverables and engineering outcomes.
  • Develop your technical and leadership capability, with opportunities to take on greater discipline leadership and project responsibility.
  • Receive a competitive salary.
  • Work across varied projects and engineering phases, rather than being tied to one type of project.
  • Broaden your technical experience within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Work within a flexible and supportive environment.
  • Continue developing your technical, project and leadership capability.
  • Access the broader engineering capability of Sedgman while working within Prudentia's multidisciplinary environment.

If you're an experienced E&I Engineer with looking for greater technical ownership, project variety and the opportunity to grow your career at Senior or Lead level, we'd like to hear from you.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
