Job Responsibilities
Lead the design, configuration, deployment, and maintenance of Line Control Systems (LCS) and SCADA platforms supporting continuous manufacturing operations.
Define system architectures, communication protocols, and interfaces to integrate production equipment with LCS/SCADA, MES, APS, and AMHS systems.
Program, configure, and optimise PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA applications.
Integrate third-party systems and industrial equipment to ensure seamless production workflows.
Oversee system installation, commissioning, and validation, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
Ensure high availability and reliability of LCS/SCADA systems; implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery measures.
Administer Windows Server (SCADA HMIs/engineering workstations), Linux (middleware/integration servers), and support embedded/real-time OS platforms used by controllers and field devices.
Plan and coordinate system maintenance, configuration management, security patching, and controlled upgrades to minimise production downtime.
Develop dashboards, alarms, analytics reports, and data historians for monitoring system performance, downtime, and root-cause analysis.
Implement OT cybersecurity measures including system hardening (e.g. SELinux), firewalls, access controls, network segmentation, and secure authentication.
Collaborate with IT Security teams to support compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and IEC 62443 standards for OT and IIoT environments.
Troubleshoot LCS/SCADA and PLC-related issues; lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Develop system documentation, SOPs, and training materials for operators and engineers.
Establish preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for factory automation systems.
Participate in vendor selection, project scoping, and contract management for LCS/SCADA deployment where required.
Deploy containerised applications using Docker and support Kubernetes or OpenShift clusters for high-availability factory workloads, where applicable.
Requirements/Essential
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Automation, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
3–5 years of hands-on experience with SCADA, PLC programming, and industrial automation systems in a manufacturing or factory OT environment.
Experience configuring SCADA platforms, including data historians, reporting tools, HMI/visualisation, and dashboard development.
Strong knowledge of PLC programming, industrial control systems, and instrumentation.
Proficiency in Python and SQL.
Familiarity with industrial communication protocols including Modbus RTU/TCP, RS422/485, NMEA, and CC-Link IE (CCIE).
Experience in system architecture design, maintenance, site testing, and commissioning (including FAT and SAT).
Understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, backup and recovery, and OT cybersecurity principles (hardening, access controls, network segmentation).
Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, documentation, and collaboration skills.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Preferred
Experience with Rockwell Automation platforms (ControlLogix, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View, Historian).
Semiconductor manufacturing or high-availability factory automation experience.
Greenfield commissioning or system architecture design experience.
Experience integrating LCS/SCADA with MES, APS, or AMHS.
Familiarity with IEC 62443, NIST, and ISO 27001 in OT environments.
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift in industrial settings.
Exposure to SELinux or advanced Linux security controls.
