ABOUT SENDERO

Sendero Wealth Management is a privately owned, partner-led registered investment advisor headquartered in San Antonio, Texas. Founded in 2008, we serve multigenerational families, entrepreneurs, women, professionals, institutions, and charitable organizations with an institutional, fiduciary approach to preserving, protecting, and growing wealth. As a majority-employee-owned firm, our partners are engaged in every aspect of the business, including direct client relationships.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Marketing leads the firm’s marketing strategy, technology, and measurement, and is responsible for both setting direction and executing the work. Reporting to firm leadership and working closely with the business development team, this role owns the firm’s brand, content, and marketing systems across its client segments. Marketing responsibilities are currently distributed across an experienced full-time marketing professional, an outside production agency, and firm leadership; this role consolidates that work under a single owner who develops the strategy and produces the materials that support client acquisition, client engagement, and firm growth.

JOB DUTIES (including but not limited to):

Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute the firm’s marketing strategy across its client segments, aligned with firm growth objectives and business development targets
  • Connect marketing activity to business outcomes and reallocate resources away from what does not perform
  • Maintain a data-driven approach to decision-making, using analytics to refine strategy and improve results
  • Manage and report on the marketing budget
  • Select and manage key marketing vendors and optimize the service provider ecosystem
  • Provide leadership, management, and career development for the marketing team members

Content & Brand

  • Produce and edit content across brochures, white papers, web copy, social media, email, and campaigns, in collaboration with the subject-matter experts when needed
  • Own the editorial calendar and production process, including sourcing strong material from partners and advisors whose time is limited
  • Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across all print and digital materials
  • Maintain the firm’s website, keeping pages current and coordinating updates with the outside production agency
  • Own quality control to ensure every print and digital piece is free of typos, formatting errors, and outdated figures
  • Collaborating with the Compliance team to ensure all client-facing material meets compliance and SEC Marketing Rule requirements before release

Systems & Campaigns

  • Select, implement, and maintain the firm’s marketing automation platform, including workflows, campaigns, email deployments, and reporting
  • Manage and maintain the marketing aspect of CRM in coordination with business development
  • Plan and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns across email, social media, events, and content
  • Manage lead generation and nurture programs that move prospects through the pipeline, in coordination with business development

Collaboration & Events

  • Partner with advisors, partners, and the investment team to develop recurring engagement campaigns for clients and referral relationships
  • Plan and execute firm events and client experiences that support community engagement and brand visibility
  • Support the firm’s presence with centers of influence and across the Central and South Texas communities

Performance Metrics & KPIs

  • Marketing-sourced qualified leads added to the pipeline
  • Content produced and published on schedule against the editorial calendar
  • Website engagement: traffic, time on page, and inquiry conversion
  • Email performance: list growth, open and click rates, and nurture conversion
  • Social media performance: follower growth, engagement rate, and click-throughs to firm content
  • Campaign performance against defined goals for each initiative
  • Event participation, follow-up engagement, and lead generation
  • Marketing budget managed within plan
  • Compliance review completed on all client-facing material prior to release

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field
  • Minimum 7 years of marketing experience, with direct experience in wealth management or financial services
  • Working knowledge of compliance review, advisor dynamics, long sales cycles, and referral-led growth
  • Hands-on marketing automation experience, including building workflows, campaigns, reporting, and email deployments
  • Strong writer and editor who produces and refines content directly rather than directing others
  • Demonstrated strategic judgment, connecting activity to outcomes and defending decisions to cut what does not work
  • Track record managing editorial calendars and content production, including sourcing material from busy subject-matter experts
  • Experience leading people and directly managing team members
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, marketing automation platforms, and Microsoft Office
  • Web content management systems experience

Preferred:

  • Experience working in an RIA or fiduciary environment
  • Event and community program experience
  • PR agency management
  • CRM migration and data hygiene experience
  • Salesforce experience
  • HubSpot experience
  • WordPress experience

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
