Job description
As Purchasing & Logistics Assistant, you will play a key role in keeping our purchasing and logistics operations running smoothly. You will ensure that the materials and components our teams need are ordered on time, that deliveries are properly received and processed, and that outgoing shipments are prepared accurately and efficiently.
Your responsibilities cover the entire operational flow, from placing purchase orders and coordinating with suppliers to checking incoming invoices and preparing shipments for customers and partners. When products are unavailable or delivery dates change, you take the initiative to find suitable alternatives and keep things moving.
In addition to the above, you will also contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of our office by taking care of a range of general and very practical facility and office management tasks.
This is a hands-on role combining practical warehouse and logistics activities with administrative & office-related responsibilities. We are therefore looking for someone who works proactively, takes ownership of their responsibilities and naturally spots what needs to be done. You enjoy bringing structure to day-to-day operations, solving practical problems and making sure things get done without having to be asked twice.

Your profile
We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and hands-on, with a strong sense of ownership and a practical approach to problem-solving.
You have:
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in purchasing, logistics, supply chain, warehouse administration or a comparable operational role. • Excellent knowledge of Dutch and English, both written and spoken). • Strong administrative skills and an eye for detail, particularly when handling orders, delivery documents and invoices. • The ability to organise your work independently, set priorities and follow up on outstanding tasks. • A proactive mindset: you identify what needs attention, anticipate potential issues and take action without waiting for instructions. • A solution-oriented attitude and the ability to find practical alternatives when things do not go according to plan. • The flexibility to switch between administrative tasks and hands-on operational work throughout the day. • Confidence in communicating with suppliers, couriers, colleagues and other external contacts. • A reliable and structured approach, with a strong focus on accuracy, follow-up and getting things done. • A willingness to take ownership of both the bigger picture and the smaller practical details that keep an organisation running smoothly.
You are comfortable working at a desk when the task requires it, but you are equally happy to receive deliveries, check goods and take care of practical logistics activities. You understand that a well-functioning operation depends on both accurate administration and effective execution.
Given the practical and on-site nature of this role, you live within maximum 30 minutes' driving distance of our workplace in Hasselt.
Experience with purchase order systems, ERP software, courier platforms and international shipping documentation is an advantage.
