Job Description

It’s easy to go to work when you’re making someone’s day. Every day. As a Senior Helpers Caregiver, you make a lasting impact that betters the lives of our clients AND their families. Senior Helpers caregivers provide one-on-one personal care to help our clients remain safe and independent in their home.

What does a day in the life of a caregiver look like? Providing a helping hand.

Companion Caregivers are really just that, companions. When they first arrive, they might do a safety check, help prepare meals, or pick out clothes for the day. You are a friend who plays games, runs errands, cleans up, and genuinely tries to make someone smile.

Our Personal Caregivers are going the next step and helping our seniors bathe, get dressed, and brush their teeth. They help them stay safe with medication reminders and general mobility around the house. Some of our caregivers have certifications like CNA, HHA, or PCA, (certifications optional).

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Offer reassurance, safety, and engagement throughout the day and/or night
  • Participate in your clients’ favorite hobbies (gardening, games, etc.)
  • Prep meals and help with light housekeeping
  • Transport clients to appointments or help with running errands
  • Assist with walking, dressing, bathing, and other activities of daily living
  • Provide continuous care, supervision, and companionship
  • Report what activities were completed with your clients and report any changes in physical condition, mental capacity, and behavior

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to pass a background check / TB skin test
  • Licensed driver with an insured and reliable automobile (travel to a Senior's home must be dependable)
  • One year of experience providing in home care or working in a facility
  • Dependable, compassionate, professional
