The posting

What You’ll Do

You’ll lead the platform group that every Sensi engineer builds on: a company-wide function that serves all our product squads, reporting directly to the VP R&D. Four domains, one team, and real room to shape how we build.

Cloud, DevOps & Infrastructure

  • Own our AWS and Kubernetes foundation: reliability, security, scalability and cost efficiency.
  • Make Infrastructure as Code, automation and CI/CD the standard way we ship.

Developer Platform

  • Build the paved roads for our squads: self-service tooling, service packages, migrations, databases and CI/CD that help teams ship faster and safer.
  • Take an active part in architecture decisions across all our product lines.

Data Engineering

  • Build our data engineering function from the ground up: reliable, scalable pipelines that handle large volumes of data from many sources.
  • Hire and lead our first data engineers, and set the standards for quality and reliability.

Agentic Platform & AI Enablement

  • Build the infrastructure that lets our teams develop, deploy and run AI agents, a core part of our products.
  • Bring AI into how we work: internal agents, Claude and tooling that make our engineers faster, while keeping a close eye on cost.

Leadership

  • Lead and grow the platform team: hire, mentor and develop engineers.
  • Bring order to growth: define processes, find the weak spots and fix them, and prioritize across four domains.
  • Partner closely with the product squads, data science and R&D leadership.
  • Stay hands-on: dive into the code and architecture when it matters.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams, including platform or infrastructure teams in a scaling technology company.
  • Proven hands-on engineering track record in DevOps, infrastructure, platform or backend.
  • Strong technical foundation in cloud architecture and infrastructure: AWS, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD.
  • Experience balancing reliability, scalability, delivery speed and cost.
  • Ability to lead across multiple technical disciplines, including areas where specialists have deeper expertise.
  • Experience building teams, defining technical strategy and delivering cross-functional initiatives.
  • A solid understanding of data pipelines and working with large-scale data.
  • A hands-on state of mind: you’re not afraid to dive into the code, learn new domains fast, and change what isn’t working.
  • Strong execution and prioritization: you take ownership, build processes, bring order to growth and drive stakeholders toward results.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on exposure to AI agents, LLM infrastructure, evals or AI cost optimization.
  • Experience building an internal developer platform or leading a developer experience function.
  • Experience building or leading data engineering, ideally from scratch.
  • Familiarity with our stack: Node.js, Python, microservices, Kafka, Postgres.
