Senior Product Manager, Meridian — Pilot

The Role

Meridian is the AI operating system for accounting firms. It runs the month-end close across a firm's entire client portfolio, and the firm's accountants review finished books and sign off before anything reaches the client. Each accountant carries a far bigger book and spends more time on advisory and client relationships.

We're looking for a Senior Product Manager to own Firm Experience: everything a firm's team sees and does in Meridian once a client is live. That includes the firm dashboard, the close checklist, the review layer, and Meridian AI, our accounting super agent for one-off work outside the close. You will be the second PM on Meridian, working alongside the PM who owns activation (kickoff to first close). You inherit a dedicated engineering and design team, a roadmap in flight, and firms using the product every month.

The role grows with the platform. Meridian is moving beyond the month-end close to become the place a firm runs its practice, and you will lead the work to turn Pilot's internal tools into capabilities firms use with their colleagues and clients.

What Success Looks Like

• Increase the number of clients an accountant can confidently oversee.
• Reduce the time required to review and approve a close.
• Increase the percentage of closes that agents can manage without human intervention.
• Make Meridian the system a firm uses to understand the state of its entire book of business.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the Firm Experience roadmap. Set priorities and ship across the dashboard, close checklist, review layer, and Meridian AI, from Prepare through Close to Review & Deliver.
• Build a review layer firms trust. Accountants see what the AI did, the reasoning behind each judgment call, and the few exceptions that need a human. Sign-off is fast and well-founded.
• Grow Meridian AI and firm customization. Expand what firms can delegate to the agent, and extend firm-level preferences and client-level overrides so Meridian works to each firm's standards.
• Take Meridian beyond the close. Own firm-to-colleague and firm-to-client collaboration, productizing internal tools such as document management, client communications, a client portal, request tracking, email management, and delivery of finished books.
• Be the voice of the accounting firm. Learn the Practice Management space. Spend real time with partners, CPAs, and bookkeepers, and partner with Sales, Customer Success, and Implementation to turn feedback into clear requirements.
• Support sales and expansion. Equip go-to-market teams, join high-value pitches, and design features that bring more of a firm's portfolio onto Meridian.

About You

• 4+ years as a Product Manager owning a product line or major product area, with a track record of shipping features that moved customer or business outcomes
• B2B SaaS experience, ideally with workflow products used by teams
• Strong product and design judgment for complex, information-dense interfaces
• Comfort in customer-facing and sales settings; you earn credibility with a firm partner
• Clear writing and the ability to turn ambiguous feedback into crisp requirements
• Fluency with AI tools in your own work and real curiosity about agent-driven products

Strongly preferred: working knowledge of accounting or bookkeeping, from building products for accountants or from time in the profession (public accounting, bookkeeping, controller, or similar).

Bonus points: experience with Practice Management or client collaboration products (Karbon, Canopy, TaxDome); productizing internal tools; shipping AI or agentic features; deep familiarity with QuickBooks Online or Xero; founder or operator experience.

The base pay range target for the role seniority described in this job description is $166,000 - $249,500 in San Francisco, CA. Final offer amounts depend on multiple factors such as candidate experience and expertise, geographic location, total compensation, and market data. In addition to cash pay, full-time regular positions are eligible for equity, 401(k), health benefits, and other benefits; some of these benefits may be available for part-time or temporary positions.
