The posting

Ready to be a Titan?

ServiceTitan is looking for an Accounting Manager with strong leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills to join the GL team. This is a foundational role — the first in-house accounting hire in India — responsible for owning the full accounting operations for the India entity, managing the relationship with our outsourced accounting firm, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This position will work closely with the Senior Accounting Manager on key processes, policies, and building out the India accounting function. As the India team grows, this role will lead and expand the local accounting team.

What you'll do

  • Own and manage the India entity accounting function, including operation of the general ledger system, journal entries, and month-end close activities while meeting global close deadlines.
  • Reconcile, analyze, and resolve questions regarding assigned general ledger accounts timely and accurately, including multi-currency and complex bank accounts.
  • Analyze monthly and quarterly financial results, providing flux explanations for significant variances to management.
  • Oversee preparation of supporting schedules and footnotes for local financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the fixed asset register, including capitalization, depreciation runs, asset disposals, and periodic physical verification; ensure proper classification and accounting treatment in line with company policy.
  • Manage India statutory compliance including GST, TDS, Professional Tax, and other filings in coordination with the outsourced accounting firm and corporate tax team.
  • Analyze differences between local statutory books and GAAP books (Indian Accounting Standards/US GAAP), including preparation of schedules supporting reconciling items.
  • Monitor changes in Indian tax legislation applicable to the tech industry and assess potential impacts.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the corporate accounting team and the outsourced accounting firm, managing deliverables, deadlines, and information flow.
  • Review and approve vendor invoices with correct GST treatment, TDS deductions, and GL coding; prepare India payroll accounting entries and statutory deductions.
  • Act as the first point of contact for India-based employees on accounting-related queries, including expense reimbursements, payroll questions, and general accounting matters.
  • Lead the local statutory audit process, including preparation of audit schedules, managing auditor queries, and coordinating with the outsourced firm and external auditors.
  • Develop, maintain, and document accounting policies and procedures for the India entity; identify and drive process improvement and automation opportunities.
  • Partner with the internal systems team on initiatives to enhance accounting accuracy and automation of accounting processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Tax, FP&A, HR, and Legal.
  • Support management in completing special projects and other tasks as assigned; contribute to building the India accounting team as the entity scales.

What you'll bring

  • 7+ years of accounting experience with strong knowledge of Indian statutory and tax compliance (GST, TDS, Professional Tax, PF/ESI).
  • Proven track record in operational accounting, including managing outsourced accounting providers; prior experience working with a US-based multinational and across distributed teams in multiple time zones.
  • Solid understanding of Indian Accounting Standards and/or US GAAP accounting; experience reconciling local statutory books to GAAP books.
  • Professional qualification preferred; CA (ICAI), ACCA or CPA.
  • Experience in Workday Financials preferred; proficiency in Tally and Paybooks is a strong plus.
  • Advanced user of Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Comfort using AI tools (e.g. Claude, Copilot, or similar) to accelerate research, draft documentation, and support day-to-day accounting workflows.
  • Ability to build or contribute to process automations and workflows — experience with tools such as Claude, Google Apps Script, or similar is a plus.
  • Ability to identify and analyze problems and provide solutions independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail, follow-up skills, strong work ethic, and accountability.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
