The successful candidate will be customer-focused, eager to adopt modern Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and cloud engineering practices, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment supporting Shell Energy Asia’s business-critical Data & Analytics landscape.

In this role, the individual is expected to strengthen service reliability, reduce operational toil through automation, and contribute to Shell Energy’s journey towards intelligent, resilient, and increasingly autonomous AI-enabled operations.

Key accountabilities

  • Own end-to-end operational support for Data & Analytics applications and platforms, ensuring resilient service delivery, SLA compliance, and 24x7 support for critical services.
  • Support and deliver change releases, upgrades, and cutovers, ensuring operational readiness, risk control, and continuity of critical business services.
  • Strengthen the control environment across supported services through effective IT controls, security remediation, access governance, and audit compliance.
  • Partner with Product DevOps teams to enhance service reliability, observability, and system performance in support of business continuity.
  • Drive continuous improvement and standardization of operational practices in line with Shell Service Operations Management priorities and service excellence objectives.
  • Engage in project delivery to shape scope, define operational requirements, and secure robust Agree-to-Operate outcomes.
  • Own financial oversight for supported applications and portfolios, including cost management, budget support, and reporting to ensure effective control and value delivery.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 5 - 7+ years of relevant experience in IT Operations, application support and development, preferably with Enterprise Data & Analytics platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience supporting business-critical applications, integrations, infrastructure, and data pipelines.
  • Experience managing operational readiness and Agree-to-Operate (ATO) requirements for project transition to operations support.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge, Service Request) and operating as an end-to-end service integrator across multiple teams and suppliers.
  • Demonstrated discipline in operating within enterprise governance for change controls, access management, security vulnerability management, and audit requirements.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset, adoption of AI automation to promote work productivity and system reliability.
  • Observability fundamentals, using logs, metrics and traces to diagnose issues, implement alerts, and self-healing operations.

Other Technical skills

  • Strong hands-on knowledge of SQL, Python and PySpark.
  • Deep experience with Azure, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Microsoft Power Platform tools.
  • Working knowledge of Cloud services, including identity and access management, secrets, clusters, compute and storage.
  • Understanding of CI/CD, DevSecOps, deployment pipelines and quality gates
  • Hands-on knowledge of data orchestration, pipeline dependency management, schema evolution, data quality controls, lineage, and reconciliation across batch and streaming workloads.
  • Understanding of Azure/Databricks-specific failure modes, including cluster saturation, job/pipeline failures, concurrency, API throttling, network latency, dependency outages, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Experience with automated testing (unit, integration, data-quality) within CI/CD pipelines; exposure to performance and resilience testing a plus.
  • Ability to monitor and optimize cloud platform capacity and costs, workload performance, scalability, and cost while maintaining reliability and security requirements.
  • Experience with Git-based version control, infrastructure as code and configuration automation using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, etc useful but optional.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
