The posting

We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Plant Industrial Cleaning Foreman to lead and manage cleaning operations across our heavy industrial process plant, administrative buildings, and accommodation facilities. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, field-based environment, is passionate about cleanliness and hygiene standards, and can lead by example. You will direct a combination of in-house and subcontracted teams, ensuring all cleaning operations are streamlined, efficient, safe, and aligned with our company standards and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate daily cleaning activities across the process plant, office areas, and accommodation units.
  • Lead, supervise, and motivate in-house cleaning staff and subcontractors to ensure high-quality and consistent performance.
  • Conduct regular inspections and walkdowns with internal teams and clients to verify cleanliness and adherence to safety and hygiene protocols.
  • Assist in defining key performance indicator of cleanliness across the plant.
  • Propose equipment, tools and methodology to improve cleaning effectiveness
  • Ensure effective resource planning, including shift scheduling and manpower allocation.
  • Monitor and report on cleaning performance, absenteeism, issues, and improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate and work hand in hand with the HSE team to promote and implement HSE behaviour
  • Perform and support risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and method statements.
  • Ensure all cleaning equipment and materials are maintained, used correctly, and safely.
  • React swiftly to spills, urgent plant needs, and VIP visits with appropriate cleaning responses.
  • Train staff in cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and proper equipment use.
  • Prepare basic reports and maintain accurate duty time sheets, including control of overtime.
  • Coordinate with external services (e.g., road sweepers) as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
  • Participate in and support continuous improvement initiatives and audits.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in industrial cleaning or facilities management role, with 2 years in a supervisory position preferred
  • Background in heavy process industries such as power generation, water treatment, sewage treatment, oil & gas, or similar preferred
  • Strong knowledge of industrial cleaning methods, techniques, and equipment (e.g., ride-on scrubbers, industrial vacuums).
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a diverse team effectively.
  • Willingness to be hands-on and lead by example. This is a field-based role, not desk-bound.
  • Solid understanding of COSHH, MSDS, risk assessments, and health & safety compliance.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with management and clients.
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and reactive cleaning needs.
  • Strong attention to detail and high standards for cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken plus Hindi/Urdu. Other languages may be considered
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.

Desirable Attributes

  • Physically fit and comfortable working in outdoor or industrial environments.
  • Able to work under pressure and direct diverse people professionally and respectfully.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills to ensure equipment and manpower are effectively utilised.
  • Experience in maintenance of HVAC systems would be desirable

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
