Founding General Manager & Head of Sales

Path to President & CEO

About ShredShox

ShredShox is an innovative alpine ski technology company developing a patented suspension platform designed to improve ski performance, comfort, control, and the overall skiing experience.

The company has been funded and developed by five partners who have brought the product from concept through engineering, prototyping, testing, intellectual property development, and initial production. ShredShox is now entering the critical commercialization stage of the business.

We believe the company has significant potential across multiple channels, including direct-to-consumer sales, specialty ski retailers, rental operations, resorts, instructors, adaptive skiing, performance testing, and strategic industry partnerships.

The next stage of ShredShox requires something the business has not previously had: one talented, highly motivated person who is fully committed to driving the company every day.

The Opportunity

ShredShox is seeking a Founding General Manager & Head of Sales to become the company’s first full-time operating leader.

This person will initially focus heavily on sales, product demonstrations, market development, customer relationships, and establishing ShredShox within the alpine ski industry. At the same time, the successful candidate will work closely with the founding partners and gradually learn and assume responsibility for every major component of the business.

This is not a traditional corporate management position. It is a hands-on entrepreneurial opportunity for someone who wants to help build a company, earn increasing responsibility, and potentially become the President and CEO of ShredShox over time.

The ideal candidate will be highly energetic, resourceful, commercially oriented, deeply connected to skiing, and comfortable operating in an early-stage business where priorities evolve and everyone contributes wherever needed.

Initial Responsibilities

Sales and Business Development

  • Personally lead the company’s sales efforts across direct-to-consumer, retail, rental, resort, instructor, and other potential distribution channels.
  • Develop and manage a disciplined sales pipeline, including prospect identification, outreach, follow-up, demonstrations, proposals, and account conversion.
  • Build relationships with ski retailers, rental operators, resorts, instructors, coaches, athletes, industry influencers, and other potential partners.
  • Organize and conduct on-mountain product demonstrations, retailer demonstrations, demo days, and industry events.
  • Establish clear sales targets and report regularly on pipeline activity, conversion rates, revenue, customer feedback, and market developments.
  • Identify the customer segments, geographic markets, pricing strategies, and sales channels most likely to support scalable growth.
  • Help create repeatable sales processes that can eventually be supported by additional representatives, distributors, or employees.

Market Presence and Brand Development

  • Become a visible and credible representative of ShredShox within the alpine ski community.
  • Attend relevant ski industry events, trade shows, retailer meetings, resort events, demo days, and other gatherings.
  • Work with the founders and outside resources to improve marketing materials, digital content, social media activity, product education, and sales collateral.
  • Recruit and manage relationships with athletes, instructors, ambassadors, influencers, and early adopters.
  • Capture customer stories, testimonials, field feedback, photos, videos, and other content that demonstrates the product’s value.
  • Help clearly communicate what ShredShox is, who it is for, how it performs, and why it deserves a place in the market.

Product and Customer Feedback

  • Develop a deep technical and practical understanding of the ShredShox product.
  • Become highly proficient in demonstrating, installing, adjusting, explaining, and supporting the product.
  • Gather structured feedback from customers, retailers, athletes, instructors, and testing partners.
  • Work with the founders, engineers, manufacturers, and product developers to translate market feedback into product improvements.
  • Help evaluate future product generations, accessories, applications, and potential expansion into adjacent markets.

Business Operations

Over time, the successful candidate will assume increasing responsibility for:

  • Revenue planning and budgeting.
  • Inventory and demand forecasting.
  • Manufacturing and supplier coordination.
  • Customer service and warranty processes.
  • Order fulfillment and logistics.
  • Marketing strategy and execution.
  • Financial reporting and cash-flow management.
  • Hiring and management of future employees, representatives, and contractors.
  • Strategic partnerships and distribution relationships.
  • Annual operating plans and long-term business strategy.

Long-Term Leadership Path

The Founding General Manager & Head of Sales will have the opportunity to grow into the role of President and, ultimately, President and CEO of ShredShox.

Progression will depend on demonstrated success in areas including:

  • Revenue growth.
  • Development of a sustainable sales pipeline.
  • Customer and retailer adoption.
  • Leadership capability.
  • Financial discipline.
  • Strategic judgment.
  • Product and industry knowledge.
  • Ability to build and manage a team.
  • Commitment to the long-term success of the company.

The founding partners intend to remain actively involved at the ownership and board level while transitioning day-to-day operating responsibility to the successful candidate as performance and trust are established.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess many of the following characteristics:

  • A deep personal passion for alpine skiing and the mountain lifestyle.
  • Meaningful relationships within the ski industry, ski community, or mountain resort ecosystem.
  • Residence in, or willingness to relocate to, a major alpine ski market in the western United States or another strategically important ski geography.
  • Prior experience in sales, business development, sporting goods, outdoor products, ski retail, resorts, consumer products, or an entrepreneurial business.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to sell directly to retailers, industry professionals, athletes, and consumers.
  • A willingness to spend significant time traveling, skiing, demonstrating products, attending events, and meeting customers.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and comfort working without a large staff, established infrastructure, or extensive administrative support.
  • The discipline to create plans, set priorities, track performance, and consistently follow through.
  • Intellectual curiosity and the desire to learn every aspect of building and operating a business.
  • Strong written, verbal, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • High personal integrity and a collaborative approach to working with the founding partners.
  • A willingness to perform both strategic and highly practical tasks as the needs of the company require.

A traditional executive résumé is not required. ShredShox is more interested in talent, energy, credibility, work ethic, judgment, relationships, and entrepreneurial potential.

Compensation and Ownership Opportunity

ShredShox expects to offer a compensation structure designed to align the successful candidate with the company’s long-term performance.

The anticipated package will include:

  • A modest initial base salary appropriate for an early-stage company.
  • Meaningful sales-based commissions or performance bonuses tied to measurable results.
  • Additional performance incentives based on revenue, distribution, profitability, or other agreed-upon milestones.
  • The opportunity to earn up to a 10% equity interest in ShredShox, subject to vesting, continued service, performance requirements, board approval, and definitive equity agreements.

The equity opportunity is intended to reward sustained value creation rather than short-term participation. Vesting may include a combination of time-based vesting and performance-based milestones, with the specific structure established as part of the final employment agreement.

Location and Travel

The preferred candidate will live in or near a major alpine ski market with convenient access to resorts, retailers, industry participants, and on-mountain testing opportunities.

Potentially attractive locations may include Utah, Colorado, the Lake Tahoe region, the Pacific Northwest, Montana, Wyoming, or another major North American ski market.

The position will require regular travel during the ski season and periodic travel throughout the year for meetings, demonstrations, manufacturing coordination, industry events, and business development.

Why Join ShredShox

This opportunity is designed for someone who wants more than a conventional sales position.

The successful candidate will have the chance to:

  • Become the first full-time operating leader of an innovative ski technology business.
  • Work directly with the company’s founding partners.
  • Influence the product, brand, commercial strategy, and company culture.
  • Build relationships throughout the global alpine ski industry.
  • Earn meaningful financial upside based on actual performance.
  • Develop from a hands-on commercial leader into the President and CEO of the company.
  • Build a lasting business and potentially own a meaningful portion of what is created.

Application Process

Interested candidates should submit a résumé or professional background summary along with a brief explanation of:

  • Their involvement in skiing and the alpine ski community.
  • Their relevant sales, business development, or entrepreneurial experience.
  • The industry relationships they could bring to ShredShox.
  • Why they are interested in helping build an early-stage ski technology company.
  • Why they believe they could ultimately lead ShredShox as its President and CEO.

ShredShox is an equal opportunity employer and evaluates candidates based on qualifications, performance potential, character, and alignment with the company’s mission.

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
