The posting

Sierra Air Conditioning, Heating & Plumbing is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Residential Electrical Service Technician who knows how to troubleshoot, communicate with homeowners, and deliver a five-star service experience.

This isn't just about fixing electrical problems. We're looking for someone who can walk into a customer's home, diagnose the issue correctly, explain solutions clearly, provide options, and help the homeowner make an informed decision.

You'll begin with a paid training and orientation period designed to teach you Sierra's service process, customer experience standards, systems, and expectations. After successfully completing training and demonstrating required competencies, you'll transition into our performance-based compensation structure, giving you the opportunity to increase your earnings based on performance.

What You'll Get

Compensation & Benefits

  • Paid hourly training/orientation period
  • Transition to performance-based compensation after successful completion of training and required benchmarks
  • Performance incentives and earning opportunities
  • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) with Company Match
  • Paid Time Off
  • Life Insurance
  • Year-round work

Tools & Support

  • Company service vehicle for qualified positions
  • Company phone/tablet and technology
  • Company-provided uniforms
  • Fully stocked warehouse and parts support
  • Professional dispatch and customer service support
  • Ongoing technical and sales/service training
  • Leadership and field support

Career Growth

This role can lead to opportunities such as:

  • Senior Electrical Service Technician
  • Electrical Field Supervisor
  • Electrical Service Manager
  • Electrical Operations Leadership
  • Training & Development
  • Other leadership opportunities as Sierra's electrical division grows

The Role — What You'll Own

As a Residential Electrical Service Technician, you'll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and improving residential electrical systems while delivering an exceptional homeowner experience.

You'll combine technical expertise with strong communication and customer service skills.

You'll be expected to:

  • Diagnose residential electrical issues accurately and efficiently
  • Perform electrical repairs and replacements safely and professionally
  • Conduct electrical system and safety inspections
  • Identify electrical hazards, code concerns, and opportunities for system improvements
  • Present homeowners with clear repair and replacement options
  • Explain recommendations in a way customers can easily understand
  • Complete work according to applicable electrical codes, manufacturer requirements, permitting requirements, and Sierra standards
  • Maintain accurate job documentation, photos, notes, and customer records
  • Keep your service vehicle, tools, and equipment organized
  • Protect customers' homes and maintain a clean work environment
  • Participate in ongoing technical, safety, customer service, and performance training

What We're Looking For

We're looking for more than someone who can turn a wrench and pull wire.

The strongest Sierra technicians are technically capable, confident communicators, process-driven, coachable, accountable, and motivated to perform.

You should be comfortable entering customers' homes, asking questions, diagnosing concerns, explaining what you find, presenting solutions, and building trust.

Qualifications

  • Residential electrical service experience strongly preferred
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic ability
  • Knowledge of residential electrical systems and applicable electrical codes
  • Ability to safely troubleshoot and repair circuits, panels, breakers, outlets, switches, lighting, GFCI/AFCI devices and related residential electrical components
  • Experience with service upgrades, dedicated circuits, EV chargers, surge protection, generators or similar residential electrical work is a plus
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Comfortable presenting repair and replacement options to homeowners
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to complete applicable pre-employment requirements
  • Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of residential electrical service work

Licensing / Certification Requirements

Because this position performs electrical work in the Las Vegas/Clark County market, candidates must possess any individual electrical certification or journeyman credential required by the applicable local authority having jurisdiction for the work they will perform, or meet the applicable requirements to work under Sierra's licensed electrical contractor and qualified supervision.

For work requiring journeyman-level qualification or supervision, Sierra will verify that the candidate holds a current Journeyman Electrician certification/credential accepted by the applicable building authority before assigning work that requires that qualification.

Candidates should provide copies of applicable electrical licenses, certifications, apprenticeship credentials, or journeyman documentation during the hiring process.

Important: Sierra maintains the appropriate contractor licensing required for the electrical services it performs. Employees are expected to work within the scope permitted by Sierra's contractor license, their individual qualifications, and applicable state and local requirements.

Who Will Succeed Here?

You'll likely thrive at Sierra if you're:

Technical — You know how to diagnose instead of simply replacing parts.

Personable — You're comfortable talking with homeowners and building trust.

Driven — You want your performance to influence your earning potential.

Coachable — You're willing to follow a proven process and continue improving.

Accountable — You own your calls, workmanship, documentation, and results.

Professional — You understand that you're representing Sierra every time you walk into a customer's home.

Hungry to Grow — You don't want to stay at the same skill or income level forever.

Build Something With Us

Sierra is continuing to grow our residential electrical services, which means we're looking for technicians who want more than another service truck.

We're looking for people who want to help build a department, develop their skills, increase their earning potential, and create a long-term career.

If you're an experienced residential electrician who takes pride in your work, communicates well with homeowners, and wants an opportunity where performance matters, we want to meet you.

  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing
