About Us

We are Sila, a next-generation battery materials company. Our mission is to power the world’s transition to clean energy. To create this future, our team is building a better lithium-ion battery from the inside out today. We engineer and manufacture ground-breaking battery materials that significantly increase the energy density of batteries, while reducing their size and weight. The result? Smaller more powerful batteries that can unlock innovation in consumer devices and accelerate the mass adoption of electric cars to eliminate our dependence on fossil fuels. We're tackling one of the biggest challenges of our time every day, and together we're redefining what's possible. Are you ready to be a part of a team committed to changing the world?

Who You Are

As a Field Application Engineer/Sr Field Application Engineer within Product Management, you will play a vital role in advancing next-generation battery technology for industrial applications. We are seeking a curious, adaptable engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels at managing diverse customer relationships, working directly with customers on a daily basis to resolve complex technical issues. Bringing hands-on industry expertise across key lithium-ion cell components—including anodes, cathodes, separators, electrolytes, and foils—you will help bring commercial products to market and fulfill customer requirements. You are adept at prioritizing tasks, collaborating across technical teams, and partnering with business leads to design experiments, evaluate data, and build strategic plans. If you are a collaborative, hands-on professional eager to drive the adoption of next-generation lithium-ion batteries in industrial devices, this role is for you.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Serve as a key technical liaison and collaborate directly with customers on a daily basis to resolve complex technical issues in industrial battery applications.
  • Apply hands-on expertise with lithium-ion cell components (anodes, cathodes, separators, electrolytes, and foils) to support battery integration and bring commercial products to market.
  • Partner with internal cross-functional technical teams and business leads to design experiments, evaluate performance data, and fulfill specific customer requirements.
  • Develop strategic plans to accelerate and drive the adoption of next-generation lithium-ion battery technology in industrial devices.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • At least a B.S. in engineering or science and minimum of 3-10 years of experience in batteries or related field (fewer for candidates with an advanced degree).
  • Technical background in lithium-ion battery technology and cell components (anodes, cathodes, separators, electrolytes, and foils), with experience in cell integration and commercial product bring-up.
  • Proven ability to serve as a primary technical liaison, collaborating daily with industrial customers to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Strong track record of partnering cross-functionally with technical teams and business leads to design experiments, analyze performance data, and deliver on customer requirements.
  • Strategic problem-solving and project execution skills to drive technical adoption in industrial applications.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
