WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US
Product Development is a major part of SimCorp, where software engineering teams work consistently towards producing top-quality solutions. Engineering Managers are leading these teams, and they are key to our success. We are growing and evolving Investment Accounting, a key element in the long standing success of SimCorp and covers all rules and calculation methods in order to provide our clients with a legally binding subledger for all supported asset classes.
WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
▪ First and foremost, you are going to hire and onboard software engineers in Noida & Hyderabad, build and develop engineering teams, thereby be the driver in our quest to scale up our engineering capacity
▪ You are the leader of 1-2 teams of Software Engineers with responsibility for growing and upskilling your team through 1:1s, feedback, mentoring, coaching, and goal setting
▪ You have responsibility for both the short-term deliverables in the sprints and the long-term improvements of your team(s)
▪ You are responsible for creating a healthy working environment for your teams
▪ You work closely with your peers in both Engineering Management and Product Management to understand and refine the customer outcomes that you and your teams are responsible for delivering
▪ You collaborate with other leaders to deliver cross area initiatives, and to ensure knowledge sharing and consistency where needed
▪ You understand and define relevant engineering metrics to gain insight into your team’s performance and to help drive improvement
▪ You are responsible for the planning and the delivery of the outcomes of your teams
WHAT WE VALUE
- Experience with engineer recruitment and building engineering teams
- Overall 10+ years of experience, including:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience. Especially into .Net Technologies
- 0-5 years of (people, process, technical) leadership experience.
- Knowledge and experience with AI, with the purpose of improving efficiency
- Strong experience with .NET ecosystem (C#, .NET Core / .NET 6+, ASP.NET Core, Web APIs) in building scalable, enterprise-grade applications.
- Solid understanding of web application architecture, including RESTful services, microservices / modular monolith patterns, and event-driven systems.
- Working knowledge of modern UI frameworks such as Angular, React, or similar (Angular preferred), with an ability to guide teams on front-end integration patterns.
- Experience building and operating solutions on Microsoft Azure
- Proficiency in cloud-native design principles, CI/CD pipelines, observability, resilience, and scalability.
- Strong understanding of software engineering practices - API design, secure coding, performance optimization and distributed system design.
- Familiarity with data storage technologies (SQL Server, NoSQL, caching strategies)
- Experience from a workplace that produces financial software, uses investment management software, has a global workforce, and distributed teams
- Personal accountability and initiative. When something is unclear, you dig in rather than waiting for someone to hand you an answer. You are comfortable making decisions with incomplete information, and you follow through.
- Stakeholder management and collaboration across borders.
Good to Have
- Exposure to financial systems / capital markets platforms or high-volume transactional systems.
- Experience with frontend micro-frontend (MFE) architectures
- Knowledge of AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) and engineering productivity practices.
- Experience working with multi-tenant SaaS architectures and platform engineering concepts.
