Company :

Sime Darby Transport (NZ) Ltd

TWL, part of Sime Motors, is a leading supplier of truck, trailer, and automotive parts across New Zealand. We take pride in providing exceptional service to our customers and creating a supportive environment for our people to succeed.

We're looking for a motivated and hands-on team member to join our Christchurch branch. This role combines customer service with store person responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both working with customers and being active in a warehouse environment.

About the Role

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you'll play an important role in ensuring customers receive the right products at the right time. While customer service is a key part of the position, a significant focus will be on stores operations, inventory management, and order fulfilment.

This is a varied role where you'll spend time assisting customers, picking and packing orders, receiving stock, and helping maintain an efficient and organised warehouse.

Key Responsibilities

Stores and Warehouse Operations

  • Pick, pack, and dispatch customer orders accurately and on time
  • Receive incoming stock and check deliveries against documentation
  • Put stock away efficiently and maintain inventory accuracy
  • Assist with stock replenishment, cycle counts, and stocktakes
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely (training provided where required)
  • Ensure products are stored and handled correctly

Customer Service

  • Assist customers at the counter, over the phone, and via email
  • Process sales orders and prepare invoices
  • Help customers identify and source the parts they need
  • Build positive relationships through excellent customer service
  • Support branch operations and work collaboratively with the wider team

What We're Looking For

  • Previous warehouse, stores, retail, or customer service experience is beneficial
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
  • Comfortable performing physical tasks and being on your feet throughout the day
  • Good computer skills and ability to learn inventory systems
  • Reliable, safety-conscious, and team-oriented
  • Forklift licence preferred, or willingness to obtain one

Why Join TWL?

Our Christchurch branch is located in the modern Waterloo Business Park, offering a great working environment with plenty of parking and room to grow.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop skills in customer service, inventory management, and warehouse operations while building a long-term career with a respected national organisation.

What's in It for You?

  • Competitive pay and secure full-time employment
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities
  • Career progression within the Sime Motors group
  • Staff discounts and wellbeing benefits
  • Birthday leave
  • Supportive team culture and experienced leadership

If you're someone who enjoys a mix of warehouse operations and customer interaction and takes pride in getting the job done right, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply now and join the TWL Christchurch team.

Appointment will be subject to standard pre-employment checks, including right to work verification, reference checks, police vetting, medical assessment, and drug testing.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
