Als zorgkundige op neurologie bestaan je taken uit onderstaande:

  • Je onthaalt nieuwe patiënten
  • Je luistert actief naar de vragen en bezorgdheden van de patiënt en hun familie en je tracht hiervoor een gepaste oplossing te vinden
  • Je volgt, volgens de richtlijnen van de verpleegkundigen, de parameters op.
  • Je observeert de fysieke en psychische reacties van de patiënt en bespreekt deze met de verpleegkundigen en/of hoofdverpleegkundige
  • Je helpt de patiënten bij het eten en drinken
  • Je helpt de patiënten bij de dagelijkse lichaamsverzorging en-hygiëne (o.a. aankleden, wassen en scheren, ...)
  • Je waakt over het algemeen comfort van de patiënten
  • Je plaatst de bedpannen en vervangt de hospitaaldoeken
  • Je bezorgt de patiënten het nodige materiaal volgens de medische en verpleegkundige richtlijnen
  • Je geeft de nodige informatie over de patiënten door tijdens teamvergaderingen om de continuïteit van de verzorging te verzekeren
  • Je begeleidt de patiënten voor en tijdens de behandeling, geeft hen uitleg en stelt hen gerust
  • Je ondersteunt de patiënten in moeilijke (emotionele) momenten (bv. stervensbegeleiding, hevige pijn,...)
  • Je begeleidt de patiënten bij hun ontslag uit het ziekenhuis
