Who We Are?

We're GrowthSchool. And we built Outskill.

GrowthSchool started with one belief: you learn a skill fastest from the person actually doing it. So we partnered with the top 1% of instructors to build high-impact, cohort-based courses in personal and professional growth for learners around the world and used AI to make that learning personal at a scale a classroom never could.

Then AI changed what "upskilling" even means. Roles started getting rewritten faster than curriculums could keep up, and the real divide stopped being skilled versus unskilled. It became AI-ready versus not.

So, we built Outskill, our AI education arm, to close that gap, practical, implementation-first AI training for professionals, teams and enterprises. Today Outskill is one of the largest AI education companies in the world: 16M+ learners across 160+ countries, and programs running everywhere from individual upskilling to enterprise AI transformation.

Our mission: Make 100 million people AI-ready by 2028.

What that actually feels like day to day: we're 300+ people, moving at a speed that surprises most people who join us. Products ship in weeks, not quarters. There's no thick layer of process between an idea and it going live. You'll own things visibly bigger than your title. Some experiments will fail publicly, and we'll talk about them openly on Monday.

If you need a finished playbook before you start, this will be uncomfortable. If you'd rather write the playbook, you'll like it here.

Why This Role Exists

The AI ecosystem changes every day.

New models launch. Research papers introduce new capabilities. Startups build interesting products. Developers discover new workflows. Founders share their perspectives. Entire conversations emerge around technologies that could change how people work.

The challenge isn't finding information. There's more information than anyone can consume.

The real skill is knowing what matters, understanding why it matters, and connecting the dots.

We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys exploring the AI ecosystem, following interesting people, reading about new developments, and figuring out what's happening beneath the surface.

You don't need to be an academic researcher. You need to be curious, investigative, and willing to go beyond the obvious.

What You'll Do

1. AI Research & Discovery

  • Track developments across AI models, tools, products, research, and companies.
  • Explore Twitter/X, Reddit, Substack, research blogs, and AI communities.
  • Discover interesting developments, ideas, and perspectives.
  • Investigate the context behind announcements instead of relying on headlines.
  • Find original sources and verify claims.
  • Identify emerging trends, use cases, and important industry conversations.

2. Analysis & Understanding

  • Understand why a development matters and what it changes.
  • Connect ideas across companies, technologies, and research.
  • Explore different perspectives from founders, researchers, developers, and users.
  • Identify what people might be overlooking.
  • Distinguish meaningful developments from hype and speculation.
  • Develop independent perspectives supported by evidence.

3. Research for Content

  • Share interesting findings and research with the content team.
  • Identify potential stories, angles, and narratives.
  • Provide context and supporting evidence for content creation.
  • Help the team understand complex developments.
  • Contribute ideas that shape the topics we explore and communicate.

4. Experimentation & Building

  • Experiment with AI tools that improve research and information discovery.
  • Build repeatable research workflows.
  • Explore new ways to track developments and identify interesting stories.
  • Test different approaches to analysing and explaining AI developments.
  • Contribute ideas that improve how the team discovers and evaluates information.

What You Should Look For

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is genuinely curious about AI and emerging technologies.
  • Loves reading and exploring new ideas.
  • Enjoys spending time on Twitter/X, Reddit, Substack, and other online communities.
  • Wants to understand how things work, not just what happened.
  • Can evaluate sources and distinguish evidence from speculation.
  • Has strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Can communicate findings clearly.
  • Questions assumptions and develops independent perspectives.
  • Takes initiative and enjoys investigating questions independently.

Good to Have

  • Familiarity with AI researchers, founders, developers, and companies.
  • An interest in research papers, technical blogs, and AI communities.
  • Experience exploring AI tools and experimenting with them.
  • Experience writing research notes, articles, or explainers.
  • Personal projects or collections of interesting discoveries.
  • An understanding of how the AI ecosystem evolves.

What You'll Get Out of This

  • Build a deeper understanding of AI and the people shaping it.
  • Work directly with Outskill's content team.
  • Develop your research, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Learn to identify meaningful developments and connect ideas.
  • Experiment with AI tools and build better research workflows.
  • Take ownership of research projects and develop areas of expertise.
  • Turn your curiosity into insights that help people understand AI.

The Bottom Line

If you love exploring the internet, reading about new technologies, discovering interesting ideas, and understanding how things connect, this could be for you.

You don't need to know everything about AI. You need the curiosity to investigate, the patience to understand, and the ability to explain what you've discovered.

You'll have the opportunity to turn curiosity into insight and help Outskill make sense of the AI world.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
