St John of God Burwood Hospital is a 95-bed private mental health hospital providing comprehensive mental health care services. Our committed team of psychiatrists, psychologists, specialist mental health nurses and other allied health professionals recognise you as an individual and tailor programs specifically to your needs to help you return to a rewarding and fulfilling life.

We offer a range of treatments for conditions including depression, mood disorders, anxiety, psychosis, perinatal mental health issues and general psychiatry services including ECT and TMS.

About the role

Join our supportive Catering Team as a Catering Assistant in a Permanent Part-Time role offering 44 hours per fortnight. Enjoy the security of regular hours, with opportunities to pick up additional shifts when available.

You will play an important role in providing high-quality meal services to patients, caregivers and visitors, assisting with food preparation, meal production and service while maintaining excellent standards of food safety, hygiene and customer care.

We are looking for a reliable and flexible team player who can work shifts between 6:00am and 6:30pm, including weekends.

Your skills and experience

You will bring a Certificate in Safe Food Handling (or equivalent) and practical experience in food handling within a busy food service environment. You will have a strong understanding of food hygiene and safety requirements, demonstrate excellent food handling practices, and possess sound knowledge of all aspects of kitchen hygiene to ensure a safe, clean and compliant workplace.

We can offer you

  • Salary: $56,157 per annum (pro rata for part time), plus 12% superannuation
  • Permanent Part-Time role available, working 44 hours per fortnight
  • The role is conveniently located within walking distance of Strathfield Station.
