The posting

Skanska is searching for a dynamic Manager - Strategic Supply Chain. This is a great opportunity to start a career with a company that builds things that matter and values its team. We are proud to share our culture of diversity and inclusion.

Our work makes a clear contribution to society and the environment around us. We build in many different verticals. Whether we are building schools to provide inspiring spaces for learning, roads to connect communities, or hospitals to care for patients, it all contributes to our purpose – we build for a better society.

Skanska's values —Be Better Together, Act Ethically and Transparently, Commit to Customer, and Care for Life—are deeply engrained in how we work, which is why our values support and drive our D&I efforts.

The Strategic Supply Chain Manager oversees end‑to‑end procurement and supply chain activities for one or more business units or large projects, ensuring materials, subcontractors, and services are delivered on time, at the right quality and cost to support project delivery while embedding a project‑focused procurement team within operating units and providing coaching, performance management, and professional development to buyers, coordinators, and category specialists. This role sets category strategies, leverages scale and supplier relationships to drive value and cost savings, coordinates with central procurement to implement best practices and The Skanska Way, and champions sustainable and ethical procurement practices to reduce costs and support Skanska’s sustainability goals. The Manager develops and recommends procurement strategies, metrics, and plans to improve estimating during SD, DD, CD and GMP phases, interprets plans, specs and 3D models to assess scope and create quantity take‑offs, and implements process and workflow improvements (including Quick Base applications) to increase efficiency and transparency. They manage key supplier relationships and prequalification/contract arrangements, serve as the primary escalation interface for critical OEM issues, lead executive business reviews with strategic OEMs, and use supplier performance data and relationship trackers to drive continuous improvement and risk mitigation. Operationally, the Manager leverages manufacturers’ competitive pricing and strategic partner collaboration to create precise construction estimates, solicit competitive bids, optimize logistics with commercial transport teams to reduce site delays, control spending with finance, and maintain accurate supplier records in corporate systems. The role requires maintaining clear accountabilities and reporting lines, supporting Preconstruction Leads through regular coordination and QuickBase updates, developing expertise in Building Connected. In addition, the Manager will support national business development and client engagements by presenting strategic supply chain as a consultative value‑add, participating in early client interactions, proposals and interviews where supply chain is a project consideration to monitor estimating and bidding, and communicating the Strategic Supply Chain Program’s value to local project teams to increase adoption and impact. Other duties: the above statements describe the general nature and level of work and are not exhaustive; responsibilities may be added or changed as deemed appropriate by management at any time.

Strategic Supply Chain Manager Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in progressive procurement/supply-chain
  • 3+ years of experience developing and executing sourcing strategies and managing strategic supplier partnerships
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related field or 8 years equivalent experience plus minimum 7 years prior relevant experience.

Currently, the company is not considering applicants for this position who now or in the future require employment sponsorship by the company.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
